Interesting you should say that. Without wishing to get into the current rights and wrongs of who said what and whether they meant it or not, recent history does inform.

Going as far back as Clinton. the US and others concerned about proliferation were warned that NK and Iran were working jointly on the development of longer range missiles and that rogue elements within the Pakistan military (is there any other type of element in their military?) were sharing nuclear warhead technology with NK. Then was the time to stop it before we got to this stage.

It is also my opinion that Iran, having built up a stockpile of fissile material before the "deal", have also been working covertly and have probably succeeded in producing nuclear warheads.

Wouldn't surprise me with Iran, but in fairness it wouldn't have surprised me with Iraq either. Not sure which American president is pertinent to the conversation particularly - it covers both parties as they've both had more than one go and I'm fairly sure there's been an exchange between Iran and NK since at least the 80's.

Not that this isn't all fascinating, but it 100% without a shadow of a doubt is going to end up with basically the status quo but us paying slighty (but substantially if you get me) more for what we have now with enough of a label change for them to sell it as a "brexit".
