Greatest ever....80s movies

Post by CrazyHorse » Fri Oct 03, 2008 8:22 pm

Maybe it's my childhood nostalgia, I dunno; but the 1980s were the golden era of filmmaking. Computerised editing and CGI were nothing more than rough ideas and the films don't often age well but there were some absolute gems made back then...From ET to Beverly Hills Cop. Ferris Bueller's Day Off to Ghostbusters.

Here's the best three 80s movies made. FACT!

Aliens
Get away from her, you bitch!
The best of the 700 (and counting) ALIEN films made. Gruesome yet heart-warming.

Image
Apart from pushing an acid filled non-stoppable two mouthed killer into outer space, what exactly would you use this machine for?

Image
Oh dear. Looks like they picked the wrong time of the month to be messing with this pretty lady...

Probably made up trivia #1...
Then unknown actor Hugh Grant got his acting debut dressed as one of the Aliens.

Back to the Future
SAVE THE CLOCK TOWER!
Modern day take on a classic Shakespearian story. Boy meets professor, professor's head meets toilet, toilet loves professor, professor rips off Libyans.

Image
Look Marty, I know we should be getting burnt right now and for some reason we're surrounded by a thick black outline but shut up right cos I've got a DeLorean!

Image
Chuck Berry my arse.

Probably made up trivia #2...
Biff actually loves manure.

The Terminator
Your clothes...give them to me, now.
Don't try to pick holes in the story - it'll just make your head hurt.

Image
Is it just me, or is something not right about his teeth?

Image
Tech Noir was the first nightclub in the world to feature an in house 'laser quest'.

Probably made up trivia #3...
OJ Simpson was originally cast as the Terminator but he was dropped as it was feared he was too nice a person to portray a cold-blooded killer.

So there you have it. The greatest ever 80s film ever made ever. FACT!

Seconded, though a vote also for Misssisssipppii Burning (also one of my all-time faves, Tango)
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Just buy it, Hoss. Just buy it. You will never tire of either watching it nor trying to remember every line.

70's.

Reminds me of the best pun I came up with in recent times. I was asked what I'd call a movie based restaurant. Great game. Best I could come up with was "Debbie Does Salads".

Not offensive, just plain wrong.
Tom Hanks pretending to be a small child is shirley reason enough? And what's the deal with the giant piano keyboard? Wrong-diddley-wrong-wrong.

Seriously, I hate BIG.
