I'd say Football Manager as well. If I was a 10 year old, though, would I be as into the strategic side of things required for this game as I was when I was in my 20s? FIFA 09 has a Manager Mode on it, and is available on PC (I've got it for the DS), but the missions are 5 seasons long and the transfer system isn't realistic (I signed Samuel Eto'o for Celtic). It also has the actual gameplay side of the game, whereas the closest thing the latest FM has is the in-match tactical decisions. The 3D aspect of the match engine is crap as well.

But then he's reducing the lad's chances of getting a free seat on Candada Airlines.

well i would say football manager 2009, but for a 10 year old i would say its too advanced for him at that age, so i would say somthing like fifa manager or lma.

There is only one Football Management Sim - FM09.

Whether he'd appreciate the finer points of playing a complex database with some graphics thrown in, as a 10 year old, is a matter of some conjecture.
