Cats or Dogs?

Post by ratbert » Mon Feb 16, 2009 2:12 pm

I don't mind cats, but they make me sneeze and my eyes run. Dogs are far more entertaining and friendly anyway.

Which of our two favourite domestic pets do you prefer? And if you have one, post a photo of it.

(You can tell there's bog all happening at the moment  )

Neither.

Though cats are at least less noisy than dogs and tend to clean up their own mess.

Don't really get the concept of "pets" at all!

I thought it was common knowledge that the intelligence, class and general sleekness of cats makes them infinitely (and I don't use the word lightly) superior to those awful-smelling, slobbering, barking, sh1tting machines.

Maybe it's not as commonly known as I thought, and an intensive education programme is required?

Cats here - they can generally fend for themselves.

I had thought of getting a new dog and calling it Gary....but I would probably want to kick it when we lose.

Are these some sort of evolved cats from the future? Ive never seen a cat clean it's own tray.

Got a two and a half year old Shit-hzu. Good fun, good company and great as a guard dog (barks the house down day or night if anybody opens the garden gate). Minus side, worse than having a small child in terms of scattering thing all over the house, expensive, sulks if you tell him off, finicky eater and needs walking twice a day.

Had a cat, just like Puskas's avatar, for fifteen years. Great animal, clean, bags of pesonality, independent and needed little attention apart from feeding. I miss that cat even now and she's been dead five years or more.

Cats all the way. I've got a big all white one who's deaf. Possibly the best cat in the world!

On the other hand, I hate dogs and am pretty terrified of them for no apparent reason - it could be due to being chased by Brian Lara's huge dog/bear a few years ago mind.

I once went to a zoo in which the only animal on show was a small dog.

It was a shit zoo.

Fifty odd years ago I used to ramble for miles with my dog in various areas to the North West of Bolton (I supposed half of it is built over now for housing estates). She was a bull terrier. There were occasions on these rambles, and indeed at home when odd people came round, I was glad to have her and not my cats for company. So I voted for dogs.

Ditto

Grew up with dogs, all mongrels, all mental, all loving.

Since moving to London, though, it's been cats. Well, two. Brother and sister from a Bolton litter. The female is still alive and into her 16th year. Couldn't have a dog as we're both out all day and it wouldn't be fair on the dog. Cat just pop's into next door.

Thats why they are considered clean, they recognise what is your property and they sh*t on some other buggers land instead.
Got to be dogs though, they are just more fun.
