Wrapizzas: take a tortilla wrap, use it as a pizza base. Tomato puree, half a mozzarella thing from the supermarket, + whatever toppings (I usually have one tuna, ave one Serrano ham). 15 mins to prepare (actual 15 mins, nut Jamie Oliver 3 hours) and 5 in the oven. They're ace.

Girl created the thing; I named them.
I once did similar with a couple of leftover tortillas. It were shit. I hate shit that tries to be like something good as invariably it ends up being a shit imitation. Americans like to bastardise food like that.

We probably have them about once a week! I don't have proper pizza any less mind, treat 'em as different things. Think I'd be dissapointed if I had it "instead of" pizza. But easy, tasty and less unhealthy than actual pizza.

Make mine from scratch, so relatively healthy compared to bought. I make a massive batch of base pasta/pizza sauce and freeze in portions. Just defrost and finish/season for whatever type of dish you want.

Our local chippy (Chinese but quite decent fare as chippies go) are advertising "specials" on their printed menu. These turn out to be fried and battered potato slices. These were always called by us (wrongly in the strict sense I know, but this isn't Fleetwood :) ) "Scollops", sometimes back when we were kids, even "dabs", but never "specials". Is this a new international menu item term..? :?

Nowt wrong with potato scallops! Confusing in a sea-side chippy, granted, given you might have actual sea-food scallops, but "scalloped" is an adjective used elsewhere for that shape for many other things.

I don't think you were wrong TD, so there :D!

They were scallops in the local chippy when I were a young lad. I tend to refer to them as potato fritters these days.

I've always known them as scallops, but have heard them referred to as 'specials' on more than one occasion, going back a good few years.

Actually, embarrassingly after my mini rant about food imitating other food, I can highly recommend the following after a heavy night before:

Lightly toast crumpet just warm it. Take a little passata and mix a little oregano and chopped garlic and season. Generously spoon over warmed crumpets, cover with a mini tower of cheese and any other topping that takes your fancy. Grill until gooey and hot. Try not to burn your mouth when eating. I have named it breakfast pizza :D

Actually they do sound a decent do. I usually leave most of a pizza base anyway, and I imagine that attempting to eat one of those deep dish/pan things is like trying to eat a fecking flock mattress!

I'm thinking tuna and black olives - maybe with a little red onion. :)

Y'all welcome. Suggestions for ones that work much appreciated. My fav one is Serrano ham with cherry tomatoes and red pepper.

Well aren't they quite something? Had a couple as described above, although also included anchovies - bang on. :oyea:

Butchers Arms at Eldersfield again on Saturday. Absolutely f*cking incredible, again.

Scallops with a pork bao-type bun to start, guinea fowl for main and honeycomb ice-cream.

It's just...so good.
