Smoking at the match? ecigs

Post by johnmarsh » Tue Apr 14, 2009 2:10 pm

Just trying to get peoples slant on this. Been trying to cut down on the ciggies and got one off them ecigs. Brill little thing and I have cut right down.

Just wondering if peope find it acceptable to smoke them at half time? I 'm thinking of taking it to the next home match but don't want to kick up a fuss.

My mate has one and used it for a good few weeks at Everton :( with no probs. The steward did ask what it was and even had a go.

I thought of mailing the club to get the low down. Anyone any advice.

Since it emits no second hand smoke, it seems more like an inhaler than a smoke. I can't imagine it would not be allowed any more than the nicotine gum I chew.

it is probably worth contacting the club to see if they 'recognise' them. The pub opposite me has a sticker in the window saying something like 'E-cig friendly' - basically showing that they know and accept it indoors, like.

It's probably worth emailing the club to see if they are aware of them. I can see it causing much of a nuisance though.

in terms of my views on them, anything which helps people to cut/kick the habit is good :)

ecig is an electronic cigarette. You have like a little nicotine cartridge in it that. You drag it like a ciggie and it gives off smoke that is just water vapour so it isn't harmful to people around.

Just a bit worried as it does give off visual smoke like a normal ciggie and if I'm smoking at half time someone might have a rant.

Not seen the signs in pubs but looks a good idea. I might give the club a shout for the crack on them.

A good idea, really.

Expect a reply from the club in time for the 2013 season.

By 2013, the country will be so broke, smoking will be compulsory in a bid to raise extra tax revenue.
