Re: Today I'm angry about.....
More upset than angry.
Had to take Mum's dog in to be put down.
Not ashamed to say I cried like a baby.
Miserable thing to have to do.

That's tough WW. Commiserations. Takes a very hard-hearted person not to be upset at that. Bet your mum's a bit wrecked too.Wandering Willy wrote:More upset than angry.

Telesales in general and Consumer Surveys in particular. Sick and fed up of being bombarded to death by them. Is it breeding season or what?

Dont often get angry but I'm pretty vexed with Virgin right now. They obviously know I'm with Sky. Our street has cable. I've been receiving a letter a week from them encouraging me to switch to them and their Tivo box. Presumably Richards trying to buy another balloon cos today, i got my 4th letter from them in the last 6 days. That includes Sunday when there's no post!

^ They're working hard on me too. Thing is I'd switch back to them tomorrow if it wasn't such a pain. Going to Sky was a mistake and I wish I'd stayed with Virgin. I'll get back to them in the next few months.

Wow That really surprises me. I find Skys customer services excellent yet I believe Virgins is supposed to be bobbins, no?clapton is god wrote:^ They're working hard on me too. I'm with Virgin. I just use them for telephone and broadband. Had a telephone problem yesterday; the line was totally dead. Tried our phone in a neighbour's socket and it was fine. Rang Virgin by mobile and a guy came out at 9-0'clock this morning and fixed it in fifteen minutes. Ive had B.T and A.O.L and Virgin is far better than both.

I have landline, broadband and telly (tivo and spare box upstairs) plus two phone contracts for the family with Virgin.
All in for about £75 a month.

further to my earlier angry-outburst about poppies....
1. NOBODY wants to burn your poppy.
2. the WHOLE POINT of the poppies is NOT that you have a permanent one from a lunatic anti-muslim group giving them funds for their lunatic propaganda - but that you buy a fragile one every year TO RAISE MONEY for the Royal British Legion.

Yeah, I've just got that. Bellendtastic.

We do have some morons in this country, but we do also have people who choose to burn poppies publicly on Armistice Day.
Where do you find all this 'you're not burning my poppy' stuff though?! I only see it via you...

Ok, well it seems to me you should be more judicious about who makes up your Facebook feed, as it's not something I have ever seen.
And presumably you'd have to go looking to find them on eBay?

it has happened - granted - but how often and how widespread?mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:We do have some morons in this country, but we do also have people who choose to burn poppies publicly on Armistice Day.
this stuff implies that it is so widespread and common that it is now appropriate to use the poppy as a symbol of defiance against muslims... (and my guess is that those who saw the fragile poppies on "Flanders Field" would be horrified by it being used this way.)
Re: Today I'm angry about.....
i looked to find where they were sold - and tried to find out who was selling them - just in case they are being sold by the royal british legion... you may be surprised to hear that they are not being sold by the royal british legion (though SOME ebay sellers claim that they will send their profits to the RBL).mummywhycantieatcrayons wrote:Ok, well it seems to me you should be more judicious about who makes up your Facebook feed, as it's not something I have ever seen.

as for my fb feed... most of the posters pumping out these pictures onto my page belong to some very vulnerable and "difficult to reach" families that I am working with in Newton Abbot... for many of them fb and mobile phones are a way of life. if I want to communicate anything at all with them - then I need to be there...
I could, of course, disassociate myself from them - and keep my fb page pure - but I'm not going to be doing that any time soon...
I still reserve the right to be angry/irritated by it on the TW angry thread, though.
