If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Gotta be honest, I've I'm going to do that as Vlad, I'm not taking out Manchester leaving London to capitulate, I'm Guy Fawksing it and dropping it on Houses of Parliament and letting the rest work it out...
I know us to be of similar age, so you'll doubtlessly remember being utterly convinced that Andropov was sending one our way.

The film 'Threads' about it hitting Sheffield didn't help much!

Anger doesn't really do it. A missile hit on shopping mall full of women and kids eighteen miles away from any war action?

A sobering thought: Ukraine is quoted as two and a half times bigger than U.K. Russia approximately seven times bigger than us with with seventy times more inhabitants. Not that any of that would matter against pushing a button of course. Lunacy..
I think if this continues to escalate, with Putin still in power, we could well see a tactical nuclear strike by the Russians. Given that we are an island nation it would be reasonable to assume that Russia could take us out as a warning to the rest of the world to back off. A strike on Manchester would devastate the area for 100 miles around but leave London's infrastructure to capitulate. We will have 90 seconds notice to bend over and kiss our arses goodbye.

:?

I'm not particularly worried about a nuclear strike, that's just sabre-rattling (and easy to say because if I'm wrong no-one will be around to say I told you so).

There wouldn't be a Russia left about half an hour after Big Ben was vaporised.

Putin far more likely to carry on pushing to see the atrocities he can get away with to try to crush Ukraine. The nuclear threat is designed to stop the West interfering there given we're taking a much keener interest than we did when he did the same things in Chechnia and Syria.

I probably did Pru. The Maverick brothers, Brett and Bart were riverboat gamblers in a T.V series many years ago.

Some nice people up north but it’s not very green! Roads are way busier too! Though that might just be comparing your urban part of the north west to my more rural part of the south east rather then the actual bigger picture. You do get way more house for your money though. Maybe because the weather is so grim?!

The Lake District, the Peak District, the Pennines, the Yorkshire Dales, the North Yorks National Park, Northumbria and all of Scotland have just been on and asked me to call you an ignorant southern numpty. Luckily for you, I'm too polite :)

BTW - Sheffield is the UK's greenest city. Yes, Sheffield, so go and stick that up your Haywards Heath ;)

You conveniently quoted me there! I did say the bit of the north west I had seen! Not the entirety of the north! Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Wigan etc all seem to merge into one! You could drive for hours through shops (you have so many shops, the kids were amazed to see 3 B&M bargains on one drive and what surely must be the worlds biggest supermarket!) and houses. West Sussex has one ‘city’ in the entire county, Chichester, which is 50 minutes drive from here and which has a population of around 30 thousand. And we have one big town, Crawley (really not somewhere to brag about) but that’s it! East Sussex has Brighton, Eastbourne and Hastings as city/big towns. Up north (the bit I went to) felt very different. Great if you prefer urban living! I’m well aware there are some wild, beautiful parts too, I just didn’t see them (blame my tour guide  ).
