Oh come on chaps. There's the museum and its fabulous aquarium. Plus a night out in Reflex afterwards.

That's where I went wrong - ended up in J2 (?) last time I was there. Should've known Reflex was a better option.

An outstanding theatre.

But that is pretty much it for cultural life.

Some pretty decent restaurants.

Lots of drinking places.

But Manchester is 12 miles and 20 minutes away - and that's a major city.

Head to Manchester on the train after the match. Direct routes between Manchester city centre and the Reebok. Only takes 20 mins.

What was Reflex?

All I remember was Ritzy's, 5th Avenue, the Temple, that one that used to be McGinlay's that opened till 8am and was only there for a year, and Bergerac's.

Used to be upstairs of Whiteheads department store.

Sparrow's was good. Well, when I say good, I may be stretching things.

It was, however, my old haunt. For a while...

Aye - it's above BL1 - was previously upstairs for the Goose pub.

The place is bobbins, the music is even worse (Grease sountrack FFS) but it's full of kife :pissed:

Bergeracs was quality, that was our regular when we were too young to get served anywhere else :D
Troll and proud of it.

BL1 is decent on Thursdays, £1.25 a pint.

Reflex - the only time I've been to an eighties night, requested Stone Roses and been told that "they didn't have any eighties anthems."

Kico's is pretty decent now, though as usual with those places the good music is on early on, before it descends into drumnbass shite.
"Young people, nowadays, imagine money is everything."

"Yes, and when they grow older they know it."
