Similar thing happened to a lad I used to live with when he was about 14. He slipped on ice getting off a train and went under as it was pulling away from the station being dragged along for a couple of hundred yards. He spent about a year in hospital, 2 months of which in a coma. Lucky, lucky escape.

Naturally that was a major news clip here yesterday. What an amazing escape!

I can't imagine what the mother and the train driver went through during the time it took to extricate the child, I really can't. I think if it had been me I'd have either have collapsed on the spot or gone instantly insane and turned into a gibbering idiot (no cheap shots, thanks).
