Without doubt a good version, you'll have a ball.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 12:05 pmHaving seen them a few times (minus RJD) - I've yet to hear them attempt Stargazer...the bloke they have wailing at the moment sounds like he might be able to carry it off reasonably...Bonnet and Lynn-Turner had no fcking chance...Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 11:00 amGood stuff. Saw them last year at the Genting Arena when he didi his 'One off, Never to be repeated, One UK show only' Show.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Fri May 26, 2017 1:11 pm22nd June - Rainbow!
Birthday surprise (errr) - delighted!
The grabbing bastard.
Was a great show I have to admit but it's more like 60/40 Deep Purple.
What I had a problem with was the timing. The weekend I saw them was the pinnacle of my training for Ironman. The Saturday I was up at 5.00am to be driven to Watford to swim 4km in the open water. I ran back from there (18 miles) then had to drive to Birmingham for the show. The show finished at 11.00(ish) and I drove back to London and got to bed about 02.00. At 5.00am I was up to do a 100mile bike ride to Luton and back (twice).
Had I known he was doing it again this year I'd have bloody well waited!

It'll be the first time that most of the audience will have seen a plug being pulled in quite a while, I shouldn't wonder!Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2017 4:11 pmWas at the MEN - which isn't re-opening until September..thought they might switch to Ethiad or OT but they just pulled the plug...

They came on late and the locals piled in last minute. Some cnut decided to kick big dents in my car outside the venue. It's knackered anyway but no need to make it worse! Decent night other than that.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Tue Jun 20, 2017 8:47 pmYou should have been there at two minutes to Midnight.

I was too excited in the run up and forgot to post - went to watch Kraftwerk at the Bridgewater Hall on Monday night. Absolutely staggering show! 2 hours 20 minutes of solid entertainment.

I'll take your word for it. Never got Kraftwerk
Next weekend I'm off to see Green Day at Hyde Park. Brucie will be pleased to know Stiff Little Fingers are on the bill.

As GQ once quoted " If there was any justice in the world then Green Day would be paying royalties to Stiff Little Fingers for the rest of their lives". As I say, whenever I want to listen to a band who sound like Stiff Little Fingers, I listen to Stiff Little Fingers!Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2017 5:24 pmI'll take your word for it. I think they each have their merits. Should be a good festival any way.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2017 6:58 pmAs GQ once quoted " If there was any justice in the world then Green Day would be paying royalties to Stiff Little Fingers for the rest of their lives". My phone informs that this evening I've done 22,250 steps walking around Berlin just gawping at stuff. What a truly incredible city. One day, I'll back here in my own leisure time to do it some justice.

Amazed at how cheap Berlin is for food and booze for a large Capital city. €2.20 for a 550ml bottle of Bitburger on some man made beach thing next to Checkpoint Charlie and then we got €0.50 for returning the empty!!

It is a typically miserable day for Manchester to be welcoming Radiohead for a big outdoor concert.

I know I've slagged em off before (annoyed that a once smallish cult band got more popular - yes, I'm that type of bell-end), but I managed to score a cheap ticket to the Sunn 0))) concert tomorrow night at the Ritz as I'm intrigued and could do with the shit being shaken from me again. Nowt new on show, just lots of crushing drone. Must remember ear plugs and stand as close to a speaker as possible.

Went to see Stanley Clarke at Gorilla last night and met the man himself after the show. Truly a legend of the bass guitar.
