Impulse buys you later regretted

Post by Bruno » Fri Nov 13, 2009 10:09 pm

Went shopping with a bad hangover and somehow ended up buying a massive keyboard because it was on sale for £100.

I went home convinced I was going to learn the piano and after 20 minutes testing all the sound effects never touched it again.

C'mon then, let's hear yours and a special prize for whoever posts a picture of Steinsson

Spent a good few grand on a van and ended up going to the tip in it every blue moon  T'other half thought at the time I was barking which made getting rid a trifle embarrassing.
Oh nearly forgot 400 on a petrol generator because it was a bargain and 3 years later ain't never been used so I'm dead against these new nuke power stations so I can try it when lights go out

Those checked trousers that were all the rage down Ritzy's back in '92.

Not a "buy" but a swap. Swapped my car with a bloke in a pub for his. I was convinced mine wasn't working properly and that I'd been ripped off on it. Turned out that he was still driving the one I swapped about 10 years later...The one I got in return lasted about a month.

Imported a Dreamcast from America as I couldn't wait the extra 6 months for the European version to come out. Got hit by £45 import tax and it wouldn't play any EU games.

A Gus Demmy style check suit. Wore it twice, left it in the wardrobe for two years then gave it to a charity shop.

Nah nah nah. Crazy Taxi was ace. Fair enough, I was stoned and fell asleep after my second go, but I had fun in those two goes.

The Omni Pump Lite 'Fire' has a leather and suede upper that is predominantly red and accented with orange, black and yellow. When this color scheme is combined with a slight red speckling on the yellow vertical outer sole and the orange basketball shaped pump with yellow lettering on the tongue this joint has all the markings of a some may say 90s but I say 80s retro classic.
i actually like them, but they are just too unusual to get away with round here, there's no way i can pull them off! Dioufy would wear em!

Fancied having another go at learning a musical instrument a couple of years aso and on impulse chose the Banjo. I was regretting it almost as I was leaving the shop. Forced myself to have a go an hour a day for several weeks, then gave up.

Two things in life I'd love to be able to do - play an instrument and learn a foreign language - but obviously not enough to stick at it.

Paid £95 in Afflecks for a pair of pants with absolutely gigantic baggy bottoms on them in my uni days, they even had UV bits on them as well. Only wore them once, they weighed a ton.

what the hell was that all about?!

Should stick them on ebay or something and try to get a bit of money back on them. What I'd give to have a spare £95 knocking around right now.

Though I would have put money on your first choice being those rose tinted spectacles that you have never worn.
