Favourite Ever Movie Themes.

Just a bit of light stuff. What are you're favourite ever movie themes? Music you find sticks in your head. Some of mine are:

The Guns of Navarrone
The Big Country
Last of The Mohicans.
633 Squadron
Robin Hood,Prince of Thieves.
Pirates of The Carribean.
Shall we dance and Take the Lead (The Gotan Project numbers)
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Live And Let Die.

Which is really the end of the thread, but I also like A Bridge Too Far. But still, Live And Let Die, eh?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Do we have to have seen the movie?

1492 Conquest of Paradise is a great piece of music, but I've never seen the film.
'Far away, there in the sunshine are my aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they may lead.' (Louisa May Alcott)

Southern Comfort - Ry Cooder Crap movie but what a song and what an opening scene set to the song. A soundtrack was
never released and I spent years trying to get a hold of that song until Ry Cooder released a CD with his movie
soundtrack songs which also included others like Paris Texas etc.

Oh brother where art thou : Man of Constant Sorrow T Bone Burnett produced the soundtrack for Cohen Brothers (In all one of
the greatest soundtracks ever done and one of my favourite movies.

Shaft : Say no more

Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence : Ryuchi Sakamoto

One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest : No Idea but hauntingly beautiful. Still visualize the Chief and his great escape

Bright side of Life : Not really the theme but who cares.

Can't believe we've not had the Dambusters in with the war film music. So, I'll add it.

Along with.

C'est le vent, Betty, by Gabriel Yared from Betty Blue. Not sure how much the tune evokes without seeing the film though.

This one's not the movie theme, but from the same film.

Great call for Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Seanworth. Terrific right through. Loved the Soggy Bottom Boys .

I'll throw in the Dirty Dancing soundtrack right through too.

Donnie Darko had some fantastic stuff in it - not least "Mad World" and stuff by the Cure

it's quite hard to appreciate the soundtrack if you haven't seen the film though, because the two become associated...
