I'm thinking of going to study there in the next year or two. Anyone been/lived there?

Excellent city - good and varied nightlife, plenty of things to see/do, decent sized student population, locals are prettty canny most of the time.

I was there if Feb. 2004 too. I was stone cold sober as well which was even worse.

Generally, South Wales good (Cardiff, Swansea) North Wales not good (cottage burning, phlegm gargling ex-miners)

Same here. Can't believe they charged £5 to get into the bloody country. They've missed a trick there, they should charge on the way out...they could charge more!

Only been 3 times. twice to play in the basketball nationals back in 89 and 90. Last time was for t'cup final. A quick in and out on each occasion.

Gary - North Wales is actually good...if you know where to go

You can pop my my house ... it's quite nice.

Cardiff .... city centre, castle area, revamped dock area, Torchwood. All v v nice.

Uni OK, but like most of Wales, is getting politicised with "Welshness".

Outside the city centre area, a pile of cack.

If you want to see the area in its glory pop up to Myrthyr Tyddfyl Simply the worst small town I've ever seen.

Then there's the language ..... have you got a few hours ??

Great city and tbh a great area to live. I live down the road in Newport (Ryder Cup etc). Getting more cosmopolitan every year. Uni is great, got a very good reputation. My son has had open days with them and they have come across well.

AAAAARRRRRGGGHHHH I hate, properly loathe stories like that. Stories that turn me into a daily mail reader. What is the cockfookingarseabiding point of that. Who the hell is getting offended. Christ. Honestly sack off these David Cameron billboards, as a nation we need a country full of massive posters saying CHILL. THE. feck. OUT. IT. IS. NOT. IMPORTANT.
