ahhh... we used to get them up in the north east - except it was "sea coal" - a kind of coal-shale left on the beach when the tide goes out... people still run vans down the beach to collect it... back-breaking work...bobo the clown wrote:Coal scavengers. Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Great day out today.
Train to Strawberry Duck.
Round Entwistle reservoir.
Down past Wayoh reservoir.
Lunch at Black Bull in Edgworth - delicious rag pie, chips and mushy peas.
Back to Strawberry Duck for a couple of Hobgoblin.
Train home. Perfect.
ps If someone could make the pic a bit bigger for me I would be very grateful.

It's not really possible to resize upwards (not without losing quality) without the original file.Wandering Willy wrote:

Can you not choose a different size option with your original upload?

This is what happens when you enlarge it from the pic WW. Course, you can always look at it through half-closed eyes.

It looks to me like you uploaded it to Photobucket as a thumbnail, MJ.

photobucket has changed recently - you used to be able to specify what size you wanted it to upload - now it just uploads the original sized file...
which means if I link files from there now - they are Mahooosive...

This is where I spend most of my Sunday's, either whitewater kayaking down the river Dee, or walking in the hills. The Vale of Llangollen is a beautiful place:thebish wrote:some bits of wales are nice!

Hope is what keeps us going.

Panorama Walks, Nr Llangollen. For those who use Google Earth you can see this on the 'Street View' system & it's amazing.Always hopeful wrote:This is where I spend most of my Sunday's, either whitewater kayaking down the river Dee, or walking in the hills. I often used to drive to that very spot at lunchtimes & listen to some music looking at that very view.
From it you can see the River Dee, Llangollen Canal, the old Railway and the A5 ... all those modes of transport. Plus the Llangollen golf course. Really, really beautiful up there.
