Today I pass the landmark anniversary since I had my diagnosis. My odds of surviving now shoot up. Instead of just a one in five chance I now can 'relax' knowing I have a one in two chance of surviving the next five years.
I know it's bollix and the statistics are meaningless as an individual but I'm off for a champagne right now

I don't know what ails you, Spotto, but I'm delighted that you're getting on top of it. Have a wonderful New Year.

Today I'm really happy about getting the Year of Live Music going... (the deal here is we see at least one live music event a month)...

Today I booked for Czech chamber music by Dvorak, Smetana, Gluck and others as part of the RNCM's 'Ma Vlast' festival in early January...

And the Decemberists at the Academy in February...

And the glorious, brilliant, wonderful Portuguese fadista, Mariza, at the Barbican in March... This will be the seventh time I've seen her live - in Manchester, Bristol, Harrogate and London and this is her only UK gig of 2015...

I've been asked/given permission by Toni ... aka 89BWFC89 .... to tell everyone that, at 1.41am on Saturday 27th December she brought into the World Liam, a new Bolton fan (though her partner seems to think he should be a Preston follower, but he can fck off).

For those who follow these matters he was 7lb 14oz and she delivered him at home after a whirlwind 2.30hr labour.

She'll be back on as soon as she has sorted herself, and the baby out .... so about 3 years then.

She sends her exhausted best to one & all.
