today I caved in to the effects of old age and bought an off-the-peg pair of +1.25 reading glasses from superdrug...

it is nothing short of miraculous! I can now see words on pages without having to put the book at the other side of the room and back off several paces...

i can also see cooking instructions on packets - and photos that I had thought were a bit blurry and cursed my camera-shake - are actually sharp!
