Re: Today I'm happy about......
I'm stepping away from the industry although my director (who I've known nearly 25 years) will continue to be my friend. No point in telling him what he already knows about my line manager.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 9:29 pmI did. One day it all got too much and I saw the red light. No going back after that but I got another job eventually . Cost me a lot at the time , although three years later the same boss persuaded me back ...till the next time. Some battles in life are unwinnable.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 1:56 pmJust wish I had the nuts to tell my old manager some of the reasons I'm leaving but I'll stick to the tried and trusted.....at least until the notice period expires in 3 months.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
I recall maybe posting something on Linkedin, in relation to a departure from a particular company ,it was fairly innocuous but pointed to the share price plummeting on the day before I announced I was moving. Couple of hours later, my phone went "notification mad." Over 100,000 views later, I was still laughing.

Ah, now I understand why you can afford to quit your job. Little Miss GtE is no longer a liability and you can go back to being a hippy, or something. Congrats.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 4:41 pmLittle Miss GtE turning 21. And finishing university.

TBH she's been largely self-sufficient since she left.

Aye, Miss GG is a similar age to when I met Miss GTE and there’s only a few inches in it now! Tbf though, I was quite tall at the end of primary school. I just then stopped growing. Hope you have a good weekend celebrating!Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 10:35 amYou did. She was taller than you even thenGooner Girl wrote: ↑Thu May 26, 2022 9:01 pmBlimey. Absolute shit-monger. The net appears to be closing on a few, Bannon, Powell, Guilani etc. And the Jan 6th committee now have access to Jones' emails...DoJ just need to move quicker on Trump.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:05 amAlex Jones. Superb Simpsons-esque lawyering as well.

Dominion Voting Machines (a good Canadian not Venezuelan company) are the ones burying Sidney Powell and Rudy. A civil not criminal prosecution for defamation. They are turning grey at Fox news these days as well, after Dominion filed a $1.6 billion defamation suit last month. DoJ is not likely to prosecute Trump. They would not have to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt but a much higher standard - beyond any conceivable tiny shred of doubt. Still, interesting times.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 12:00 pmAbsolute shit-monger. Fox has been shifting "balance" recently, not that I think it'll help them much. Mugdock probably catching a cold. As for the evidence threshold, I already have not one shred of doubt. I think the recent appearance of the DCCC putting ads out on election deniers is short term. Playing with fire.

We're off down to the Green Man Festival on Thursday, so imagine my utter delight on learning this morning that the insufferably glacial US three-piece, Low, have been replaced by the magnificent Public Service Broadcasting instead, on the big stage too.
