Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Walking to the station last night, spied four (I presume young) deer on the banks of Bradshaw Brook

Lovely. I've spotted deer several times around Entwistle Reservoir, up on the wooded hills to the south (also great place to get your wimberries ). Might well take a stroll along the brook and round Jumbles tomorrow.Bruce Rioja wrote:Walking to the station last night, spied four (I presume young) deer on the banks of Bradshaw Brook

I think they are mainly around Seven Acres Park but I even saw one in Leverhulme park one morning a couple of years ago. The only time in 30 years of running round that park.Hoboh wrote:Take the pathway through the rememberance forrest towards the A666 you will spot quite a few of them if its quietWilliam the White wrote:Lovely. Re: Today I'm happy about......
A backtrack "happy" for yesterday:
Saturday morning, on the way back from the newsagents I saw some thing colourful lying in the road. The dog had a sniff at it and curiosity made me walk over and look. It was a pot gnome/dwarf with the back of its head smashed off. Had one of those daft moments when I put it in my pocket and took it home. I braved the wife's " What on earth...?" and just shrugged, laughed and said, "Who knows, it might be a lucky gnome". She shook her head and gave me one of those pitying looks.
I stuck it in the back garden under the trellis, don't even ask me why. Sunday morning, checked the lottery and I'd won £25....

It's EU Sunshine. Mainly from Spain and Greece. You should be thankful they've let us borrow some of it. Wouldn't happen without the EU person responsible for Sunshine and Sea.Hoboh wrote:Sunshine

Wok to Walk is another must try in Dam, they have one in London but nothing up here. I always wanted to open a franchise in what was Jessops, now Luciano's at the Middlebrook.
Re: Today I'm happy about......
That Wok to Walk was everywhere in Barcelona too. Didn't get round to trying it though, thought it looked a bit naff. 'Appen not!
That Luciano's stall is a revelation too. Pre-match food sorted.

Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

Ha! It's Italian sausage, got a bit of a kick to it and they put it on a panini but it's basically a sausage butty! It's ok for a quick bite at dinner time or before the match or whatever.KeyserSoze wrote:Can't help feel that's a bit like going somewhere abroad on your hols and just going to their version of the Red Lion every night89bwfc89 wrote:They do a really good sausage butty in Luciano's!Prufrock wrote:That Wok to Walk was everywhere in Barcelona too. Aye that's the badger. Though it's been on a barm when I've had it pre-match. Not had anything else from there, though been to the restaurant Adlington-way a couple of times.89bwfc89 wrote:Ha! Just as well Luciano's sausages are ok as the coffee is appalling.
