Sometimes you just have a shitty day. Happens to me regularly. Especially if I've upped the training a bit and the body is adapting to that. You've been running more in the last few weeks I think so that's possible. Usually precedes a boost in fitness if that makes you feel better!
Pissed off really after doing well on Saturday. Yeah, I've upped it quite a lot in the past few weeks.

As I said to Pru, I'll go again tomorrow and see how I am.

Happens to me too sometimes, never figured out why.

Theories include:

-Concentrating too much on breathing thus making it non automatic and unnatural.
-Too hot/humid
-Too much pollution
-Setting off too slowly
Cheers Pru

Was definitely concentrating on it constantly after realising I was struggling
Ridiculously humid night
If anything I set off too fast though.

I'll go again tomorrow and see how I am.
You definitely did. Should have let Tom go and run at your own pace. He was flying last night!

I suck when it's humid but then it triggers my asthma. Sometimes you just have a bad run.

I've read about both this and DNA testing. As I don't have any major health concerns I thought it wouldn't really tell me much but it's interesting stuff.
A friend of mine works for DNAfit, they give you detailed nutritional and training advice from a cheek swab. Seems a bit fanciful to me, he admits there are lots of environmental factors that it obviously can't take into account, but I think it can flag up stuff in certain people that is useful.
Yes, I had a DNA analysis last year but it didn't show anything worthwhile that could be altered or which might have affected my metabolism/well-being. I wasn't sceptical about the DNA analysis - I was kind of hoping that it would show something significant so that the doctors could hone straight in with specialist treatments, but that wasn't to be. The gut biome thing came as a complete surprise to me - I just never imagined it could be transformative: I thought it was just dabbling, maybe I was even as cynical as to think it was just quackery.
The placebo effect is a miraculous thing.

Completing the hattrick of Hull parkruns in the morning, Peter Pan park.
Completing being the name of the game after several weeks off plus the game and a night out.
That will be my 23rd of the 40 Yorkshire and Humber venues.
Will have to start getting up early to get the rest done though.
If you think I'm a geek though, my mate has done 195 different parkruns and 926 wetherspoons!

Just woke up near Hull with a bastard behind the eyes and the smell of cheap roadhouse whiskey on my breath.
I'll do that third Hull parkrun another week..

Well, this one's set to run (pun intended :) )

This morning the organisers of the Bolton Half Marathon have called it off saying that the council stuck them with a bill to the tune of £27K.

Council have responded saying that they only asked for just over £1K

How queer!

Got an email this morning telling me. Got a phone call off my dad before that though.

Was looking forward to that. Still, it gives me an extra month to prepare for Amsterdam.......

I just feel sorry for anyone who's set it as their 'goal run' and spent the past few months grafting.

In a ridiculously warm hotel basement gym, I've just trotted out my 53rd to 58th K's of August (and broke my PR PB by 1min 9secs, but that doesn't count). Bring on Bury :) #toaman

Ran for just over half an hour this evening, which is the most for a couple of months. Considering running cross-country for my club this winter. Never liked it, and haven't done one for 15 years, but it'll get me fit.

There's a 5 mile trail on in Walkden on the 10th. Likely to get sold out real quick though now that there's no Bolton half.
