Re: The athletics/running thread
Thanks for that G, seriously. I thought it may be something like that but couldn't remember the name. However, looking at the symptoms I'm fairly optimistic it isn't that. Having done several stretches, I've finally found one that tweeks it which makes me think it may just be a muscular thing. On the plus side, if it is ok this week, I'll be up for the full run next SaturdayGary the Enfield wrote:Check out Piriformis syndrome Harry. I sincerely hope it isn't.
Cheers missy. Fingers crossedAww, that's not good Harry Get better soon!

I'm a new man these days having started eating less volume, less fat and walking 3 or 4 hours a week, about 3 months back
Weights not falling off quite as easily now so, 3 stone lighter, it's time to up the stakes and its the NHS run 5k programme
All on the ipod ready to go
Biggest problem is my local roads are like the Alps

Are you in Bolton Caps? Bruce has done the NHS programme there. Presumably he managed to find a few routes that didn't require an oxygen tank half way along the route?CAPSLOCK wrote:I'm a new man these days having started eating less volume, less fat and walking 3 or 4 hours a week, about 3 months back

I look down on Bruce
He's 3/4s of the way down my hill, the scuffer
I'm at the top so really can't win!

That's not as mad as it sounds. My local landlady who is training for the London Marathon does precisely that. She has an eight mile course which she runs - downhill and then onto a canal path and then gets the bus back.Gooner Girl wrote:Run down the hill then get the bus back up?!CAPSLOCK wrote:I look down on Bruce

Not long to go til London now. One of my friends from club is doing it. He's hoping for sub 2.40, reckon he will do it with ease, he's flying along, injury free at the moment.
Hows the muscle pain Harry?

Caps - on your warm up walk, walk down to South Drive (I used to walk up to it) and start running towards mine. There's plenty flat around around mine. I'll pm you my usual route if you like. And mate - well done.CAPSLOCK wrote:I look down on Bruce

May the bridges I burn light your way

The mind boggles. I don't consider myself particularly unfit (though definitely not fit) and the 3.5 mile run I've been doing the last few weeks nearly kills me.

Parked up at Morrisons, and trotted around the park and that crescent thing behind the docsBruce Rioja wrote:Caps - on your warm up walk, walk down to South Drive (I used to walk up to it) and start running towards mine. Re: The athletics/running thread
Just had my 1st physio session. Christ it was painful. Seems to think it is a posture thing & my back has just gone slightly off kilter. Hope to God she's right. Icing it all right now and due for anoher session on Good Friday morning. Fingers still firmly crossed.Gooner Girl wrote:Not long to go til London now. One of my friends from club is doing it. If I do make it now though, am not sure I'll be able to do it justice and get the time I was hoping for

You still up for Saturday? I've long since given up on doing the time I wanted. Just want to get to the start line now.
