We’ll need a time, place, distance and physical evidence. Failure to do so will result in you buying beers (all of them) at the next away day meet up!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 10:06 amNext week I will go out for a run. Someone hold me accountable please!

You seem to know an awful lot about women selling farts in a jar. Please tell me she hasn’t given you any ideas. That said, I doubt there’s a jar been made that is able to contain yours! Weapons grade material!

Re: The athletics/running thread
Anyway… it’s raining outside and I have zero inclination to get out this weekend, apart from perhaps a 2k trot with the youngest around JPR tomorrow. Hoping, as I said to a couple of TW-ers this morning, that I could perhaps exercise by osmosis via my daughter. Her schedule this term after deciding she wants to do some new clubs…
Monday - dance and football
Tuesday - athletics
Thursday - netball and swimming
Friday - swimming
Saturday - swimming and gymnastics
Sunday - netball
Makes me exhausted just giving her lifts to all these activities! Ahhhh, the energy of youth…

Are we all on strava? Could do accountability that way, through the dopamine-provider that is kudos.

No I'm old school. I'm still upset that the route I logged as a 6 miler throughout the 90s turned out to be 5.6. Garmin LIES!!!KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 8:11 pmAre we all on strava? Could do accountability that way, through the dopamine-provider that is kudos.

Nike plus for me, BP and I believe Bruce. Can you use strava as an app then? Not had much experience of it.
Re: The athletics/running thread
Staying in sounds good. Skated round a grassy shithole parkrun in Bingley this morning in inappropriate shoes. Thought I'd take it easy.but everything still hurts. Went to the gym later but it was shut so went next door instead (neighbour I a pub). Now leathered but happy.Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 3:08 pmAnyway… it’s raining outside and I have zero inclination to get out this weekend, apart from perhaps a 2k trot with the youngest around JPR tomorrow. Re: The athletics/running thread
You did park run in this weather?! Hardcore. Supposed to be sunnier tomorrow for when I get out-run by a 6 year old. Can that count as my ‘run’ for the week? Well done on replacing the fluids lost. Clearly taking the post run recovery period very seriously.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 11:21 pm

He wrote 'pants' but was autocorrected. He's a deviant. He's only moved to Yorkshire to shadow his role model.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:54 pmI'll check. Re: The athletics/running thread
Managed 10 relatively pain free miles today, and even managed to pick the pace up a little at the end from slow to relatively steady. Leg still isn't 100% but I'm really happy that I can do that distance and not feel like I'm gonna have to park it half way through. Marathon in April looks a lot more realistic
Boring gym for boring strength training tomorrow

Re: The athletics/running thread
Good stuff, sounds positive. Same for me on the boring gym stuff. I'm.at the point where I either do it or accept I'll never get to run consistently again. Which is annoying.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Sun Jan 09, 2022 10:04 pmManaged 10 relatively pain free miles today, and even managed to pick the pace up a little at the end from slow to relatively steady.
