The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Entered the Orion 15 for later this month:

Tried it three years ago on a hangover and never wanted to run again. Trying to avoid that mistake this time.

Busy enough weekend. 7 miles Sat am with Mrs GtE - 5 week to Ballyliffin
Sunday I managed to finally get out on my new push iron. Only 22 miles and with a fierce headwind from Chorley to Bolton but on the flat it's bloody swift! Top speed of 30mph without pushing hard. :)

Was that with or without the stabilisers on? :conf:

So the 30 day abs and squats have been a disaster but I am planning on what will be probably only my second run of the year tomorrow morning (if you can call it a ‘run’). Which means I can then justifiably tell the rest of you who are also slacking off to pull your finger out and get going again!

Not sure but I’m hoping that and some sunshine might help motivate me. Just finished Pilates. Now going to kill in a darkened room and recover before umpiring 2 netball matches this afternoon and swimming with my youngest this evening!

Cracked 21 mins for 5k on the track tonight. Happy with that. Also takes my mind off the washing machine not draining 😭
