First run since 17th May and longest since 7th Feb. Only 3.85k but it’s a start. Managed to resist the amazing ice cream shop at 3.6k!

Which way to Ironman registration? 🤔

Without GtE there, you two are just going to sack off the run and go to breakfast aren’t you?
I note that Sir Arthur Conan Doyle spent much of his adult life in East Sussex too. It must be something in the air. ;)
Elementary my dear Rioja. Not the toughest case to crack.

And despite what Facebook claims, it’s West Sussex!
😁

It's a shame that Little Chef's not still a thing. They used to knock up an 'Olympic Breakfast'.

Guilt free multitasking 😎

Think I managed a PB at brekkers yesterday. I even had a little lap of honour 😊

I.had a hot and sweaty time in Beverley on Friday night, followed by a skinful, a gentle trot round the lovely Beverley Westwood parkrun and then a filthy spoons fry up.
Only let down by the presence of 3 hash browns.

General registration opens tomorrow. You've 12 months to train up. Get on it.

Had a great weekend this weekend. Clean bill of Health from my Heart and Lung MOT on Friday afternoon
Swam in Pennington Flash Saturday morning
Went out on my bike with the club Sunday morning round the Horwich tri route finishing with a lovely punch up Victoria Road, Old Kiln Lane then Georges Lane for a challenging uphill finish.
Later I walked up to Two Lads to see the Red Arrows fly past and on the Southport Air Show. Saw their whole display from nearly 40 miles away.

Jake Weightman, I salute you. UK's first global 1500m champ since Cram in 83.
To take on and then hold off the Olympic champion in the style he did took nerve and class. Brilliant.

Worth 3 and a half minutes of your time I'd say...

Gutted I didn’t get to watch it live. Fantastic achievement. I may not have run this week but I did compete in track and field (badly) at the weekend so that ‘achievement’ is justifying my 2 plus icecreams a day habit at the moment.

Also, junior GG turned her attentions from cricket to athletics last week and smashed area sports with her school, doing very well in sprint, relay and standing triple jump. They won the event overall despite the very sour organiser who was leaving their rival school after 25 years not bothering to present them with the shield!

Utterly fantastic. I was sure the Norweigen would take it ( he was the first to congratulate Weightman which was lovely) but Weightman was heroic. Not since the days of Cram, Ovett, Bedford and Coe have we had great middle distance runners. Long may it last.

So glad too the wee Scottish girl Laura Muir, got a medal. A mere slip of a girl with the heart of a lion. I always watch when she's running. Well done Laura.

Not wishing to intrude in this thread (I just read for interest as my running days ended with "Wilson" (that might not mean much to most) , but I've been discussing Greasy Spoons ( the genuine sort) days with a colleague elsewhere. I used to stop at a pull-in at Cannock Chase for the most unhealthy but utterly delicious full English you ever ate, mug of tea and the morning paper, and all for fifty pence. Vegans in uproar.. :oyea:

Well done young GG! What is "standing triple jump?" just for this oldie? Is it like triple jump without the hop, skip and jump which makes it the triple jump, so it'd be just "jump" :-)
