Saturday 19th! I’m expecting to see you leave Lever End in your dust so you’d best get cracking.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Wed Feb 09, 2022 10:18 amOh shit. When's this? You could always try to run up that big hill and earn your breakfast!

Not sure how it'll go but should be sub 50 minutes. Any of you lazy buggers up to much?

Good luck. Not done that one for about 20 years. Not the easiest course if I remember rightly.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 10:15 amGot my first race in absolutely ages on Sunday. Lostock 6

I'm doing Long Eaton parkrun near Nottingham on my way to my niece's 1st birthday party. Nice and flat apparently. Early start though. Got a 10k in Knutsford the following weekend, plus have entered the Salford 10k on Good Friday. That's a good race if you're around.

Errr. No. Thinking of starting one of those 30 day abs challenges again if anyone fancies doing it with me to try and motivate me more.Gary the Enfield wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 10:15 amGot my first race in absolutely ages on Sunday. Lostock 6

Send it to me and I’ll see if I’m motivated to do owt else. Completed it last time, but I’m still to win Olympic gold, disappointingly!Gooner Girl wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 5:15 pmErrr. Re: The athletics/running thread
Well I did Lostock 6 in 46.01
Was looking for sub 48.00 so very happy with that. An average 7:45 pace. Not too hilly but a couple of climbs which concentrated the mind. Windy and chilly too. Mrs GtE did it as her first ever 'race' and beat a Blackpool runner to a sprint finish. I may have created a monster......

Nice work GtE! Great stuff.
After my triumphant declaration a few weeks ago, 'life' sort of took over and I haven't been able to do a lot the last two weeks. Missed too much now to realistically do anything good at Brighton Marathon in April, but I'll put a solid four/five weeks in now before tapering to get around.
Nationals at Hampstead Heath on Saturday Didn't do it this time around, but walked around with a friend yesterday and it still looks like you've had a tractor and JCV convention there. Next year!

Re: The athletics/running thread
I've done PHF four or five times now. It's 9 miles of hell. It's run as 3 laps (senior men) Every time I've done it they've been handing out the prizes for the winners as I'm starting the last lap.....KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 10:58 amNice work GtE! Great stuff.

Re: The athletics/running thread
Saw videos of Parliament Hill, how those fast lads skip through the mud so easily is beyond me. I hate it. Effectively gave up cross country 20 years ago. Did a Surrey League for Wimbledon a couple of years ago and remembered why.
It's a tremendous spectacle though, the National.
