The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Abs and squats challenge. I’m going to start tomorrow for anyone that wants to join in!
I’m in. Need to do something after a virtually complete lack of exercise in recent months. Is it the same as the last one?

I was going to start today but Wordle has taken it out of me this morning. I'll start tomorrow

Today was one of those where I could have done it in 3 but it took me 5. You could say I was rather hasty over a nasty pasty. Put me off squatting and crunching for the day.

Snap! 3 letters on my first attempt, albeit in the wrong position, did not lead me to believe I’d score a 6! Bastard!

Right, after a manic day of work netball tournament, sorting out WBD costumes for the kids and a meeting this evening I have finally managed to cram in my abs and squats before bed! Fairly easy to start with!

What about your crunches? I know you have no trouble eating the other type. 😉

Hoping to shake off the last bastions of a headcold at Barking parkrun this morning. Happy to be up early and touring again!

Thanks GG! Got home under 22:30 which I was happy with, and hopefully can have a proper crack at it next week. Really nice course I must say, with a boating lake through. Flat as a pancake and on tarmac as well, which was a bonus.

Also learned a lesson in not judging a book by its cover. Set off and a guy in front of me seemed quite overdressed, wearing a full tracksuit and what appeared to be a dress shirt under the top. Coasted past him on the first lap at around 7.10min/mile pace or around that and carried on as he went back in the distance. With about a 1km left, he careers past me at what must have been close to 6 min/mile pace  pacing, lad!

Sounds like an impressive time to me! Strange attire to run in for that guy but it takes all sorts I guess! How old was he do you reckon?!

Indeed! More revealing of my own biases than anything else.

I had him down for anything from late 20s to late 30s. Checking the parkrun results...45-49!
