All clear to give running a go at the weekend*

*max 1.5km at a speed of 7kmph. Then not again until the following weekend.

Baby steps but at least some steps!
How did you get on?
Good thanks. More or less the same as two years ago but a little slower on the run. 2019 it was a 4 mile downhill and 2 mile loop round the city centre. This year it was 3 laps of Roundhay Park so MUCH hillier. Good fun though. Need more work on transition. Big weekend coming up. Full swim tomorrow (2.4 miles) then run 18miles am/pm Sunday is a 100mile bike ride. Then three weeks taper for the big one.

Looks official, per parkrun uk's pet journo, however they f*cking buried that stage 4 caveat in there.

https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/ ... -athletics
I think delaying the end date won't matter, just if they call local kickdowns or revert backwards. Parkrun has been allowed for ages. I'll be camping in Eskdale that weekend so will probably do the one at the Northern end of windermere if it's on.
Got 2 5k races before that though, first for a year, starting next Friday.

A post-Engerlun cycle out to the north downs, a shade under 85km in all. Lovely views out of London. Took a wee break at the top of a climb called Gangers Hill (and a bastard it was, too.) Bit of flapjack and some water and a sit down, lovely.

Tendon is none too happy but we will work on that this week.

Not sure whether you meant to reply to yourself again there, GtE, or whether we are now in performance art territory. :D

So he says!

Anyway, 2 track meetings this week and I’ve done sod all training in 2 years. What could possibly go wrong?! :conf:

Today temperatures are due to hit 29 degrees down here. I think I might be a field event only athlete tonight. Way too hot for this fair weather runner!

After booking a trip to the zoo for my godson and brother and missing the England game Sunday, I've now realised my 5k race is at 8.10 on Friday evening. Slap bang in the middle of the first half of England Scotland. Pre race preparations now centre around funding a pub near the race venue in York for the second half. Bugger.
