It's the rythm.. It subconsciously aids your breathing to a steady rate. Dance music supposedly helps you go a little quicker without getting tired as quickly, because it produces a certain endorphin that releases adrenaline in your body.

Apparantly
There you go! Knew i went faster when i ran with my ipod on, now i know why! :D

Two years ago I ran the inaugural 'Run to the Beat' Greenwich Half Marathon. The premise was there would be live music stations (Bands, D.J.s etc. playing motivational music to encourage a better running performance. Some Scandinavian scientist claimed performance would be improved by up to 20%!

'Twas bollocks obviously. 8)

I ran something like 1hr 56mins. :?

I do, however have a Mantra that I use for cadence. It's the Bridge and Chorus from Metallica's 'Seek and Destroy'. Gets me up hills a treat!

Be interesting to hear how many people did get pb's. Maybe it's an individual thing? Helps some people but not others?

But the line of the sea starts pretty much at the bottom left and takes your eye to the subject.

I often tend to find "Bat out Hell" or "Radar Love" tends to make me shift abit through the old head phones.

So anyway I did my Aquathlon in just over 34 minutes.

My swim was slower than anticipated but I'd half expected that due to the training session the night before.

Time to book a triathlon soon before it gets too cool.
