Bloody cyclists
Sauntering through a red light this morning as I drove in to Manchester (Shitchester yeah
) nearly caused me to smash into him as I went through on green on the other side. Wearing a stupid little camera on his hat too. Don't know who he thought he was.
AND they like to cycle side-by-side. Gets right on my nerves, that. Wankers.
I'm sure there are some nice and thoughtful and law-abiding cyclists out there, but I've never seen any.

Re: Bloody cyclists
Side by side does my head in. Furthest one out should be fair game. Set of cnuts, almost all of them.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Re: Bloody cyclists
I just got a bike, Last Sunday
and it's a bloody cycling bike!
(which means it can be only used on the road)
I rode it to Clayton the other day for something.
Wanted to go to a friends tonight but wasn't allowed as there was Thunderstorms in the day and rain / Low visability
I want to buy a non-road bike though so I can ride it on the footpath.
I now got my old Motorbike helmet and I am going to use it.
Plus my old Camelback converted to a 'backpack' which can store so much, like a 1.25lt Coke or two dvds and a CD
I plan to possibly ride to my friends Saturday night, watch the soccer until it ends; around 5:30AM (the Championship Late Match), then wait a bit and ride to the Market at 6AM
My friend wants to buy the bike off me but I'll keep it I reckon even when I get a new non-road bike
The bike is about 5 sizes too small for me so for him it would be at least 7-8 too small I reckon

Add to that when you go through the countryside theres a gaggle of 4 million of them, about 17 abreast. I'm positive the Highway Code says you should keep single file.Prufrock wrote:Side by side does my head in. Furthest one out should be fair game. Set of cnuts, almost all of them.

Re: Bloody cyclists
it does indeed - but (as you point out) it is in the category of "should not" rather than "must not" - so has no force in law under the Highways ActLord Kangana wrote:Add to that when you go through the countryside theres a gaggle of 4 million of them, about 17 abreast. You should
keep both hands on the handlebars except when signalling or changing gear
keep both feet on the pedals
never ride more than two abreast, and ride in single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding round bends
not ride close behind another vehicle
not carry anything which will affect your balance or may get tangled up with your wheels or chain
be considerate of other road users, particularly blind and partially sighted pedestrians. Let them know you are there when necessary, for example, by ringing your bell if you have one. It is recommended that a bell be fitted

You MUST NOT cycle on a pavement.

I hate that too. Along with the "you're in my way" look.
You're on the bloody pavement f*cksticks, grow a set and get on the road.

When I was a kid in the last year at primary school they did a week of cycling proficiency after school... Except they did it every other year so half the kids, including me, didn't do it ![Funny ](./images/smilies/laughing.gif)
Pavement is a joke, they really hurt folk when they go into them.

They piss me off. If they're going to use the roads, they should abide by the laws that come with them. They think they have some divine right to go through a red light just because they're not in/on a motor. The only thing that annoys me more than cyclists on the road are horses. Why do they go in the road? It's not like I go and ride my giraffe down the A6.

Re: Bloody cyclists
to be fair - this too could be said of car drivers! rarely do i see a car obeying the law (30MPH speed limit) past my house. the only ones that do are the funeral corteges on the way to the crem, the hearses speed on the way back though...Gail Platz wrote:They piss me off. met a pair of horse-riders down a lane the other week - i was on the motorbike - I was being kind and going slowly - they flagged me down and asked me to actually stop until they had gone another 50yds - one of the horses was fine - but reared up when motorbikes went past. I said that in that case - the horse was not safe to be ON THE FECKING ROAD!!!

Re: Bloody cyclists
I spose I used to get angry whenever I'd see a cyclist, Like I'd yell or grumble swear words.
The other day I was angry and Jealous; because of seeing so many bike riders on the footpaths!
I want in on that action!
It's raining again today so I won't be allowed out![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
