you flash bastard! :D

Not sure I could ever see myself writing a huge heap of plastic fairings! For one thing - I'm a clumsy bugger and I just know that sooner or later I'd put her down and bang goes hundreds of quids worth of cracked plastic!

also - surely servicing must be a pain in the arse?? you must have to spend hours carefully prising off clips and studs just to get the fairings off and find the actual bike???

I'm an old fashioned boy - I like the look of a naked/street bike... you should be able to see the guts!

my 1998 honda 500cbs is very similar to your suzi650s - just that little bit of front fairing to give a little frontal protection at speed... that's enough plastic for me!

(without skin!)

the guy that built this - Richard Brown - is going for the bike speed record - he basically built it in his shed - a good old-fashioned British eccentric inventor/mechanic... that thing on the back is a helicopter jet engine!

he has also built a sub-orbital rocket and is working on a gas-turbine powered jet pack!

this was his previous attempt:

Image

- failed because the rear tyre failed after the team was forced to use tyres instead of aluminium wheels due to the soft ground

current bike speed record is 376 mph - the Ack Attack Streamliner - powered by two Suzuki bike engines.

which is how a bike should look - and why (I guess) I ride a naked/street bike (leaving aside my small front fairing!)

By the way, I was in Corby yesterday and went past this huge place called, I think, Rockingham Speedway. Place has these enormous stands so I take it that it's some highly significant motorsport venue, but I've never heard of it. Now, I'm no motorsport enthusiast or owt, but I still reckon I can name most of Britain's race tracks. Why's this place such a big secret and what exactly goes on there? :conf:

Crazy's bike....

Image

Well, one similiar anyroad. It's been in the garage for the last five years tucked in nice and warm under a blanket.
I've a feeling the battery may be screwed by now.

I'm a bit too chubby for a rattley old stroker these days. Poor thing'd struggle to reach 60 with me on it.

Aye, a 350. 1981.
Dunno why I keep it tbh. I'm in that limbo state where I should sell it but I need to sort it out (for the MOT and stuff) before I can and I can't be arsed. I'll get round to it when I'm ready to buy a new one I guess. Whenever that'll be; probably when the kids are older.

Ha, nice try. :D
I should tell you it's a South African import but luckily cos they also drive on the left it doesn't need converting to right hand drive.

Gutted! I missed out on a coffin tank model on ebay ages ago. Needed a lot of work and I thought it would make a nice project. I've no idea who I was trying to kid with that one, I'm useless with that sort of thing!

But why? Other than coz they're French (I assume they're all French, I popped across the channel once, stopped in the nearest place for a year then came back.)
