Think we're at tipping point. Good partnership here and with Mo up next should resolve the game. The Aussies are usually good at these inflexion points. Let's see what we've got.
Not sure I fancy Mo for too many. These two need to get going and put some more runs on. Hard to know what the target needs to be but I fear we're not getting a 300 plus lead suspect we might be around 250 at best. And it will be tight then.

For sure, finely balanced. They rattle through what's left and it's going to be tough. I'd have liked 350, could have envisaged a deccy at maybe 290ish, 250 will feel a bit light. But they'd still have to get them. Sub 250 probably takes enough pressure off, unless we get about them...

Agreed this partnership is important. It feels like there have been a lot of key points in the test like this. It’s been really good. Well fought with periods where both teams have been on top or under pressure and each have fought back well. Lovely stuff.

Aye 250 feels minimum to be in the game (and would need to bowl v well). 300 ish will be close

If England had a spinner even close to Lyon I'd really fancy us. His ability to just bowl a lot and take wickets is very good. He's also slowed the scoring rate.

All very much as it ever was with us v Oz. Same for both sides however the action. It wouldn't be quite the same otherwise.

I just feel when we're trying to play more conventional cricket at a normal rate we look too likely to lose wickets. If Australia stop us scoring quickly or we go into our shells their attack is too good for us.

Stokes for me once he got in just never really got going and eventually Lyon or Cummings were going to get him and they did.

I'm not convinced by our tactics since lunch. We were going along ok but again you always feel if we're not taking the initiative its a matter of time.

Big moment for Mo here. Needs a breezy 40 to get us up to a defendable total.

And just as I say that...sure enough.......could do with Broady banging a few in before we have to attack.

Horrible feeling we're going to end up just short here.

People will point to the declaration, but for me we got unlucky with the weather yesterday. 40 more from the openers and we'd be right in it.

Yeah that spell yesterday afternoon was a killer. Far more significant than the declaration.

Easy game with hindsight, but not unreasonable to consider the deccy as part and parcel because stuff like "weather" happens (not saying change it, just consider it :-) )

Could use a Broady special, right now.

Hugely valuable from Robinson this. Another 20 and we’ll be close to par I reckon.

Yeah think Mo and Robinson played pretty intelligently. Another waggy 20, please!

Think Winviz has it around 55% Oz, which feels about right.:-(

A brief Don Quixote sally from Jimmy to add 12 to the total and leave it all on a knife edge. Riveting stuff..

Realistically there’ll need to be 80 overs for it to be a result. We’ve maybe got 30 left tonight, which means 50 squeezed between the showers tomorrow. Hopefully they manage it.

Ooof 2005 almost identical chase....

I think that this is a gettable score for Australia but not a gimme. Probably would have taken 280 at the start of the day. In fairness score 650 runs in a test in England across two innings and you'd win more than you'd lose I suspect.

Yeah. Agree with all that. Lot depends on tonight. Looks to be a bit more in the pitch, and they got a bit of swing. You'd back our lot to find that. If the pitch goes dead we'll struggle.

Feels like they're favourites, but it's doable.
