Hang on, I thought we'd lost this on day one?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 1:46 pmDoesn’t matter what Australia win or don’t. None of it counts for anything. Because they are a nation of sporting cheats. They’ve not won anything without cheating. A stain on sport.
They hate that they can’t win without being complete dicks too. And it basically renders any achievements worthless.

Australia will win this by about 15 runs. The Lyon partnership.

So, they didn't win by cheating...even though they haven't won yet.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 3:10 pmWe did. Enjoyed watching much of this today. Will England ever have a good tail end though? Or at least 1 of em that can put up a bit of resistance.

In the last two decades we’ve had several incredibly strong tails at times.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 3:32 pmEnjoyed watching much of this today. Will England ever have a good tail end though? Or at least 1 of em that can put up a bit of resistance.

I'll bow to your knowledge on this. Just from memory I can think of many occasions in Ashes series where once the middle order has gone, we've been skittled out for next to nowt. Whereas,as per the last test, we get 7 of them out, and their last few knock out the required runs without too much fuss.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 3:41 pmIn the last two decades we’ve had several incredibly strong tails at times.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 3:32 pmEnjoyed watching much of this today. I mean we did the same in 2019 albeit stokes was batting but Leach hung around. Broad was great today at sticking there.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 3:48 pmI'll bow to your knowledge on this. I mean Jimmy nearly got a century as a number 11 and in his day Broad was superb in the tail.
I don’t think this is our strongest tail for sure but part of that is down to the pace in the cheats attack.

Another good match. Wonder how many Bairstow might have made...

Pretty proud of England;s fight back against all odds. Stoke was immense again and who knows how critical a difference Bairstow's "stumping" might have made? Forty three runs was the only difference and I'll still reckon we can win the next test and haul them back. Well done the lads.

We have to win the last three. I’m afraid that beyond the superb effort and drama that they are just a marginally better side than we are.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 4:20 pmPretty proud of England;s fight back against all odds. Yeah can't wait for next week's write off after 10 overs. We've not been a long way short. Just in an around the margins. I mean three absolute Jaffas and Jonny's brain fart, probably it, in the end.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Yeah in the end that’s fair. The problem is that we look like being just that little bit too short generally. We could beat them in a test sure. But three? The evidence thus far would say not.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sun Jul 02, 2023 4:35 pmYeah can't wait for next week's write off after 10 overs. We've not been a long way short. Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
We have to get the bowling right, and I'm not sure we quite have it. First test, that spell in the rain when they took wickets, and then the three worldies in this.
Tough to fault them over all. And it's going to be tasty.
