Will they make us follow on, looking at the weekends weather forecast?

Not relevant as we only needed 63 to avoid the follow on! We’re not quite that bad.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:50 pmWill they make us follow on, looking at the weekends weather forecast?
I don’t think the weather will affect the result here as the game is moving quickly.

They can't sadly - if they were allowed to it might be the only way we could possibly win this.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:50 pmWill they make us follow on, looking at the weekends weather forecast?
Today and tomorrow will be the best batting days.
England reasonably (taking all the freak results out) aren't chasing more than 300 on this pitch against their attack in this match. 300 might be overegging it. Especially with the forecast and cloud cover - the pitch itself is decent but its swing that is the issue.

My pre series prediction of a 1-3 defeat is looking quite optimistic now!

I thought tomorrow was cloudy and moisture in the air, which is better for bowlers?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:59 pmThey can't sadly - if they were allowed to it might be the only way we could possibly win this.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:50 pmWill they make us follow on, looking at the weekends weather forecast?

Yeah - if we could hold our catches, they'd be on about what we're currently on (or less) 168....So it's not that our bowlers performed poorly...boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:15 pmI thought tomorrow was cloudy and moisture in the air, which is better for bowlers?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:59 pmThey can't sadly - if they were allowed to it might be the only way we could possibly win this.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 12:50 pmWill they make us follow on, looking at the weekends weather forecast?

As an aside, just flashed up the score-card because "work stuff" and I landed on Stoke 127...then realised that was "minutes"....

Shush - everyone.
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Another great innings when he’s taken the time to play himself in. He’s single handedly given us a chance here.

Yes - not quite parity in a low scoring game, but we'll take what's in front of us for now and hope we can hold all our catches...

Looks like I was right about a one-innings test, but at least our magnificent captain has put us back in the frame. What a hero Big Ben really is. Up to the bowlers now..

And catchers TD! There was no shortage of wicket taking deliveries first innings...Bowled really well.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 2:38 pmLooks like I was right about a one-innings test, but at least our magnificent captain has put us back in the frame. Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
It’s same story. We are on top fail to really press it home. We fight back but can’t ever get on top to really win the match.
England needed to go well past their score.
Aussies now have sunshine to bat in. Ball will be soft by tomorrow and they will be too far ahead by then.
It’s a pattern every single test this series. England can never convert into dominant positions.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Australia here know England are a bowler down. Know it’s a hot day. Know there is some uneven bounce. Happy to just stay in. Barely scoring. But I think they know that if they aren’t 5 or 6 down at the close they’ve basically won this.
Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
Haha why have they both done that?!
