I now envisage the most turgid of days tomorrow as SA pick the odd one off here and there at a glacial pace.

Ingeresting fact (to me at least):
Ben Foakes is the son of the referee who officiated the play-off final between ourselves and Reading in 1995.

So a belting day of test cricket then? The attritional ones are always the best in my view. Plenty of time for lubrication too!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 7:08 pmI now envisage the most turgid of days tomorrow as SA pick the odd one off here and there at a glacial pace.

I for one didn't know that, Nicho. Nor did I know, until just now, that Peter Foakes passed away in 2006 aged only 60nicholaldo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 7:21 pmIngeresting fact (to me at least):

And as a bonus you get to witness a masterclass from the greatest quick bowler of all time (imo).Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 11:36 pmOh absolutelyBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 9:33 pmSo a belting day of test cricket then? New ball turned it on its head. Delighted for Robinson who was brought in to exploit the bounce, and ended up taking 4 on an absolute pudding.
It'll be criminal if he's dropped for the third.

England were winning from the moment Jimmy uprooted Elgars off stump. From then it was just a matter of how long it took. An outstanding performance.

Had a cracking day thanks, Buddy. Not sure I've ever seen a new ball put to such devastating effect.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Aug 27, 2022 6:02 pmYeah, game turned in last sesh. We're talking about 'doing a corporate' for the Ashes if we can (Breakfast, lunch, tea, Champers etc.). Not cheap, but definitely one off the old bucket list

Yeah, that's a great day...I've had similar musings, but suspect the wife would want to tag along...Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 11:37 amHad a cracking day thanks, Buddy. 76-7 is pretty impressive...for us. Not so for S A.

Very good bowling. It's doing a bit, so we need to bat well. They didn't play too many poor shots (absolute clangers) but got some good balls.. don't think the pitch will change much between innings
