Straight and short - we seem to have found a formula that works on the wicket. And lots of credit to them for that because the opening bowling spell was pants.

Getting giddy we actually might be favourites to win this from here. Win a test match and a series. Who’d have thought it at 98-8?

Yeah, looks like there's a game in here...Good burst there, but we saw yesterday that it got easier the older the ball got...keep plugging.

We can't say we didn't know this might happen. Carbon copy of the first innings. The only good news is we'll get a go at them in the morning, but probably don't want the lead to be >100.

We'll really need our "top order" to perform this time. Bowlers have done their best on a weird wicket and losing three wickets without scoring a run just can't happen...but it did, as did El Capitan posting a quacker. It's all about one innings each now surely, and we can't expect the tail end to be the heroes...can we?

You know I’m beginning to think it wasn’t a good idea to leave out the best new ball bowlers in world cricket to see what ‘some others could do’. Maybe it’s just me. But favourable pitch for bowlers with the new ball and we’ve bowled absolute garbage for most of the opening 15 overs.
Well, at at least we now know that there's absolutely nowt in the locker. :?

Jimmy and Broad are top class bowlers. At their age it's unlikely they still will be in 4 years, but it's still a damn sight more likely than Overton will be, and this is a test series after all.

A couple of shocking reviews yesterday cost Mahmood the final wicket when WI were 40 ahead. In a low scoring game every run counts.

Woakes, Foakes, Benjamin Stokes, Crawley Leach and Root.

More Trumpton than Fire Brigade right now. We do need to get alight. :oyea: .

We're bowling against a bloke who averages 3 in first class cricket. Get round the wicket and angle a few in at his ankles...

Unbelievable. DaSilva gets a well deserved century. Given out next ball. He reviewed but then left the field, thought he was out, but he hasn't hit it. Back we go again.

Ridiculous.

What started as hopeful is starting to hurt now. Seales (average 3) bangs Leach for six to rub it in and Da Silva gets his ton. A not-out call that fools everybody and....at last, all out.

Honestly it’s beyond embarrassing now. I suspect a lot of first class teams could comfortably beat us.

Needs a huge revamp and not jobs for the boys.

Excluding our two best bowlers was always a total disgrace and to then play the likes of Oaferton as ‘the future’ the final nail in the coffin.

I’ve no idea where to start but let’s get a proper coach for starters and let them make the decisions. And decisions based on winning the next test in front of us not trying to plan for a future that we can’t control.

I don't feel embarrassed, just cursing our rotten luck that the Windies tail end made the difference and, some poor umpiring and a weird pitch did the rest. No big surprise that the home boys are fired up with the result meaning so much to the series. None of us will be near as fed up as Root, Stokes, Crawley and co, especially Leach and Mahmood but it isn't over yet. Can tail-end history repeat itself again? Quien sabe? .

Not mentioning selection committees....b.t.w.

They said in the studio they'd changed that, presumably recently.

Interesting figures from the Beeb show that runs score in the morning and afternoon sessions, added together make only half those scored in the evening sessions. Now's our time to change things...Currently 77-4...
