Looks like we're still more than capable of a mini collapse....!BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 11:15 amCaveat - early days.

I’d not call this a collapse. We know we have the worst and longest tail currently. Nobody can bat after Foakes. But still when they got 550 nobody could seriously think we’d make a game of it. Apart from Tango of course.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 11:59 amLooks like we're still more than capable of a mini collapse....!BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 11:15 amCaveat - early days.

Don't impugn the Burnley Lara, who's highest score of 81 was on this very ground!
Here's to a lead!

Haha. I think the run out effectively ended those chances of a lead.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 12:08 pmDon't impugn the Burnley Lara, who's highest score of 81 was on this very ground!

Doh.
Could be an interesting couple of days left, if they go hard at today...Whilst Bracewell wasn't really spinning it last evening, he did seem to get us in a more defensive shape and could with added pressure, make it uncomfortable tomorrow if we're batting a couple of sessions.

Of all the great cricket with bat and ball, a run out has to ruin it...BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 12:14 pmHaha. Far rather be in our position than theirs. It’s theirs to lose right now.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 12:15 pmDoh.

Good evening session though NZ have given a few away. Still draw the most likely but beautifully poised. Big spell from someone could win this for us.

Re: creeeeeeeekeeeeeet
It’s a brilliant test match regardless of result.
I hope England don’t crumble in their last innings as no doubt it would have people complaining. But England haven’t competed against a very good test side like this for a long long time. The whole feel is totally different. It was awful to watch England before. But this feels different.
Don’t get me wrong we’ve got a bang average at best group bar a few absolute stars. But we have watched absolute dross for years. I mean real unacceptable dross.
This is so far miles better.

12 wickets fell today. Only 13 left in the match. Might be interesting tomorrow...

A side put 550 on against England and going into day 5 England have a chance, more than a small chance of winning. That’s something we haven’t been able to say for a while.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 6:43 pm12 wickets fell today. Only 13 left in the match. Might be interesting tomorrow...
We could lose. But if we do in the right way I’m fine with that.

If you were being picky, you'd say we fell just short of par on the first innings!BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 6:45 pmA side put 550 on against England and going into day 5 England have a chance, more than a small chance of winning. Early chance for Root could be costly here.
Also for me it highlights that we should bring Moeen back if possible as Leach is a good second spinner but he doesn’t have enough on these pitches through the air. He’s not quite there and it means we don’t have threat from a spinner most of the time.
