They are. They're on full pelt right now with it being cold.

We go down Plodder Lane on the way to the match and I always point to the station and tell the kids it's where I work. For some reason; and I can't think why, they've yet to show any interest in that fact. :)

Now you got me thinking Hoss. See I always look at that as going "up" Plodder Lane, not down. With Plodder on your left (West) you're heading North, which is "up"?

North is definitely Up as in up North and darn Sarf, never mind what these railway types say when they go Up to London and Down to the Country - just plain wrong.

Confused now, I've just googleearthed it and Plodder Lane runs west to east which means you go up with the prevailing slope which is west to east.

That does make more sense.
Although I reckon down works too because driving through there can sometimes feel like you're descending into the jaws of hell....

I'm back. It is. So, using conventional convention, heading towards the Liverpool end of Plodder Lane will be going down Plodder Lane, do we all agree?

:conf: I thought they closed the Plodder Lane Station while I was still in short pants. You work on a ghost train, Hoss?

All a bit confusing due to the lie of the land. I live near the top of Bradford Road which dives all the way "down" quite steeply to Bolton...which is geographically North West of me so it's actually "up.". Since I'm facing Winter Hill that way, "up" makes sense but I still go down to Bolton. Ah well, life's full of ups and downs.
