Plenty of churches do.

I'm not familiar with much of the Christian church but I can see that some branches of the faith are more 'Christian', as it were, than others. The African diaspora has seen a large increase of numbers that worship in the area I live but they don't generally attend the draughty edifices of my childhood; rather they meet in centrally heated halls and actually have a good time.

I recognise the good work that's done by all religions. I do however struggle with the issue of religious faith. If I were to worship some higher being I'd much rather go for a good old sing song and a party, than get into any self flagellation.

Is it too reactionary to mention that all the 'satire' on the BBC is aimed at Trump and Johnson, whilst none is aimed at Corbyn, McDonnell, Swinson, et al?

Do folk have to win to be ridiculed?

Yeah, they do appear to be short of comedians who can dumb it down far enough for the rednecks to be able to understand it.

This will change when we all become Americans.

Seriously, BBC should do its own funding these days imo. If only to stop people moaning like fcuk.

I had that down as irony.

I'm a fan of PSB but I guess it inevitably leans to the left. Probably has run its race, doesn't leave much in its wake though, sadly.

I think there is a general paucity of comedians right now anyhoo. I'm hardly sat there watching the Beeb and thinking "that's hard hitting satire". There's plenty of non-political stuff they do. I sorta viewed it as leaning against the party in power - which is pretty much what I'd expect. Don't think it did Labour many favours when they were in power, either.

Veganism as a religion!

Surely what the human race really needs is less irrational belief, not more.

Its nonsense. I was watching mock the week round up the other day and half of the time was spent ripping Corbyn. I suspect people see what they want to see. The BBC is a large entity - with a wide variety of shows and styles and I think its fair to say their news coverage has favoured whoever the government of the day is for a long time. The Tories were given the favour in the election with "Tory sources" passed off as news for example - hardly surprising given Cameron hand picked their political editors back in 2014.

It is such a large organisation you can find whatever bias or slant you want to - I suspect.

On that we can agree.

I do find it sad that so many folk can nick a living simply by ripping the piss out of other folk. Be all the same if they were actually funny.

All I see at the BBC is a pair of unnaturally large ears and a massively overinflated salary.

Can there actually be such a thing as true veganism?

Something dies in the production of all vegetables, grain, fruit and so on.

It is. Which is why the judgement has nothing to do with religion but whether it qualifies in law as a philosophical belief. Which it clearly does. It means it is treated as a protected characteristic like religion, not that it is a religion.
