A crazy clown craze on the streets of Britain, yet ours appears to be missing. Circumstantial yet compelling.

Did anyone catch ITV News at Ten just then? It was quite extraordinary.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to say that not guilty verdict or not, Ched Evans is a despicable human being and will always have his name prefaced by the word 'Rapist' in my mind.

As far as I understand the case, Bob, the matter was considered rape because the prosecution claimed the woman was too drunk to give consent (though she apparently gave consent to the other footballer). At the second trial the jury was made aware of her sexual history and proclivities. The judge also considered Evans's version of events more consistent and believable than the complainant. If he did not take advantage of a hopelessly drunk woman, then he is not a rapist however you preface his name. I doubt any of us know sufficient of the truth to reach any meaningful conclusion.

You can if you're still living in the 1980's and find it appropriate language.

I'm not suggesting he's a rapist, but that the tag will follow him round and that he's created suspicion in my mind that will lead to that association every time he's mentioned. Only 3 people know the truth about what happened that night and it appears that none of them come out of this with much credit. The evidence of the 2 other blokes she had hooked up with the same week casts doubt on her allegation of rape. However, lying your way into a hotel room so you can have sex with a woman who by common consent was smashed, whilst encouraging your brother to film it from outside leaves a lot of doubt in my mind, particularly if you try to hide your face on the way out. He's not the brightest bulb in the box though, as he'd used his credit card to book the room. Sadly, he's shone a light on the world of the modern footballer and the attitudes of some.

No. I didn't know Jimmy Saville either.
But all Ched Evans has ever done that you know about is play football and join in with a mate in what's been proven to be a manage a trois. Seriously, mate, that is probably the most ridiculous comparison I've ever seen made by anyone - and it's up against some serious competition. Have you similar opinions on any of Oldham's players, for instance?
