My dog (proper 57) had his anal glands emptied once and yes the smell is something to behold!
Sodding radiator took forever to fit and stop leaking, whoever invented that really fine copper pipe that bends as soon as you look at it wants a kicking!

Males and their one track minds.
My poor girl Lily has been diagnosed with a fractured wing and can barely move, i am trying to get anti-inflamatories down her beak in the hope she might be able to avoid being put to sleep (unlikely ) but still, her boyfriend, Thierry, decides he's going to viscoiously mate with her when she cant move and escape, and now shes bleeding all over her head as well, where he's held her down.

I believe he's just landed at the Ecuadorian Embassy.
May the bridges I burn light your way

I'd pay someone to set the fire alarm off at that place.Bruce Rioja wrote:I believe he's just landed at the Ecuadorian Embassy.

aye - are they not quite famous for water-borne gang-rape sometimes drowning the female in the process??Gooner Girl wrote:Males and their one track minds.

If this isn't your sig very soon I'll be very disappointed.
Truly the funniest line I've ever read.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Seems political correctness has finally reached the Emeral Isle. Inevitable really, I suppose, but a 74 year old bloke has just sued a cruise line comedien for telling racist jokes. The Irish have always had a great sense of humour, but something I might have expected from a younger source and not somebody near my own age.

I don't mind going to the vets as the staff their are quite wonderful looking creatures, for some reason the daft dog likes going there too.
Had the sparrow hawk in the garden again, must have been a bad day as it missed a tiny bird!

Well the rabbit had it's operation yesterday. Mrs BP mentioned that we got her from the local charity place. Price came down and they included the cost of her being spayed for £122, rather than the original £140 which excluded the cost of spaying. Still a bloody lot for a rabbit. Mind you, the bastards charged £20 for medication, which I have since sourced on t'internet for £3.

Re: General Chit Chat
yeah, always worth looking on the net to see if you can get pet drugs cheaper. But then the vets charge you for writing out a prescription so you have to take that into account too...
Despite the metacam i am attempting to give my duck each day shes still not walking. Will give her the weekend but looks like she will have to be put to sleep next week

Animal welfare is costing more than humans. Our dog has dodgy hips; a full operation would cost £5,000 a leg. "Of ourse there is a cheaper version for only £800 a leg, sir"
G.G, I'm thinking that Metacam is a waste of time. No visible effect it actually improves anything.

Yeah, it gets thrust on me for pretty much every poorly cat, dog, chicken. To be honest, i'm not sure how much i am getting down her beak. Its not easy to dose a duck and its such a tiny amount.TANGODANCER wrote:Animal welfare is costing more than humans. Our dog has dodgy hips; a full operation would cost £5,000 a leg. Would be really sad to see her go, especially as she is fine in every other way, perfectly healthy in herself - other then her wing - but its not much of a life if you can't move.
Not having much luck with my pets at the mo
What are you gonna do with your dog tango? Do you have insurance?

That's what we've been given for the rabbit. Hope it works. Managed to get her to take it easy enough though.TANGODANCER wrote:Animal welfare is costing more than humans. Our dog has dodgy hips; a full operation would cost £5,000 a leg. "Of ourse there is a cheaper version for only £800 a leg, sir"

Re: General Chit Chat
We did, till they put it up to £800 a year due to his problems. He's okay right now, very mobile despite anything and we'll see how he goes on. Up to all his usual tricks, tearing things to bits, nicking flowers etc, then gives you the "who, poor little me?" bit when chastised.Gooner Girl wrote: What are you gonna do with your dog tango? Re: General Chit Chat
ahh, he's a cutie Tango, looks very guilty in the first picture!
Don't think we will leave it long before getting another dog, none can replace Milo but the house is depressingly empty without him even though its full of children and mess. Hoping for a roughly middle aged rescue one, don't mind what sex but will need to be good with cats and children. Breed wise i'd like some kind of gun dog or gun dog cross. Medium sized. We shall see...
