He has on and off-licences so it's a take-out bottle shop and he has 5 beers on tap, ffrom Blackedge, Rivington and the Irwell Works breweries. He's a genuine friendly bloke who loves talking beer and rugby league and I'm hoping it takes fof for him.

It's on Chorley Old Road next to the magic shop opposite and slightly up from Ivy Road.

Did somebody say Dark Mild on draft?

Will be trying next time I get time to myself.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Beautiful stuff. Only criticism being that he serves it too cold, but we've set LE onto 'havin' a word with his mate' janckers.

I walked into my local down here a few months back, cast a glance at the guest pump and then nearly had to find a barstool to sit on so I could fall off it. Casked dark mild! In this that London. Didn't last unfortunately, but still...

Dark Mild from the much praised Irwell Works Brewery. He's aware of the temperature but said its a bit of a juggling act with his colder stuff and he hasn't got a very complex setup. I think you just order the next one halfway down the last!
He's got some good bottled take out stuff as well.

You mustn't have had Bank Top dark mild then, Tango. ;)

I swear, I'd never drank Mild in my life until a couple of months ago. I have, most definitely, been missing out.

What does it actually taste of? I have a mate who loves it, but I've always thought of it as an 'old man' type drink. Will have to try a pint the next time that i'm up there.
