The Ryder Cup
Looking forwards to this. Never really watched it much until the mid-80's, but nowadays, the excitement of that last day, I wouldn't be without.
Bookies I think have the US as favourites. I think we're in with a pretty good chance meself, just need the team to all bring their best game with 'em.
I refuse point blank to call us "Team Europe" though...

I could take full responsibility or I could blame you, or secret option 3, we could both agree it's all thebish's fault.....

British Open apart, golf event of the year. I still fancy us to take it.

Re: The Ryder Cup
Have you seen the clobber that they'll be wearing? Mingin'. And top Dollar too. They can feck that off. Aaaaaaanyway, I've just had a look at the course. In terms of yardages it looks a piece of piss. Only 6, 7 and 14 are what you could call long, but then again they're not all that long to these chaps. The fairways are very narrow, most of which are at least kinked, at worst dog-legged and there are trees all over the place. Quite a few have water but are safe through the back. Doesn't look to be any shitty rough anywhere, and if there is then they'll probably have it chopped down. Positioning on every tee shot is going to be all important, and with that, as much as I hate to say it, I fancy the Yanks to take it.

Re: The Ryder Cup
Not the most inspiring course, but I think, as with most Ryder Cups, it'll come down to bottle as much as anything else.
Re: The Ryder Cup
Three of the four par-3s go over the same lake. Yawn (although some games might not get to the 17th.....)
The greens being quicker will favour the Yanks over, perhaps, Paul Lawrie, Nic Colsaerts and Franny Molinari who don't have the best records on quick greens in the States but all the others have a decent record over there so i'm not worried in that regard. It'll be close. I can't wait for the build up to end and it just gets on with itself!
It'll be tight, it'll come down to the flat stick and because of that I hope the belly lads (Keegan Bradley, Webb Simpson) mess it up in the most hilarious way possible and Lawrie holes the winning putt.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

At the moment - Game 1 a/s (8), game 2 Europe 1 up (7), game 3 a/s (6), game 4 Europe 1 up (4), but it's changing by the hole.
