About a metre deep for a couple hundred yards then I'd guesstimate around a hundred foot deep thereafter. That's if you make it past the sharks

The sharks are fine actually, it's the titan trigger fish you have to watch out for. The photo was taken at Gili Lankanfushi, such an amazing resort. We moved on to a different resort today for the last few days of the holiday.

Aye, been a while since I was up in the Lakes, a fair while now I think about it. High Crag seems to be a real target for photographers. I'm looking at painting a similar scene to yours from an image iI found but with a couple of boats in the foreground. Your picture is dazzling.
Clapton, this is the finished item with the boats on Buttermere I menioned a bit back. (above)
Should be in the painting thread I know, but I stuck it here because of your initial pic of Buttermere and the recent news of Swallows and Amazons...(the frame's just simulated)

^ Excellent! I was up in the area yesterday but south Lakes at Ulverston. We went up the Hoad monument and sat in the sun for an hour, just wonderful. I'm hoping to go up again on Friday and this time it will be a photo trip to Crummock Water, so might have another view for you soon.

I'm enjoying shooting black and white at the moment and today, shooting directly into the sun, it was a good medium. Better than colour anyway.

This is Crummock Water in the far northwest Lakes and I was there for 9am and home by mid-afternoon.
