We've discussed him before although you have trouble with his name.Bruce Rioja wrote:Who?Montreal Wanderer wrote:I dunno, Bruce. I believe you like his railroad trilogy..Bruce Rioja wrote:It's the recommends of your children that I'm more disappointed in to be honest, Monty. Canada is turning out some fantastic bands like Arcade Fire and Tragically Hip, yet the fruit of your loins would have you listen to a bunch of bed-wetters like Coldplay? Have a word with them, my man. Also, what about Gordy whatshisname? Sounded perfectly agreeable when I last checked out some of his stuff!

Another. There's no such thing as good year for folk passing, but lately it's been staggering. R.I.P.

Always came across as a lovely bloke. A good club manager who like all England managers got treated appallingly by the press, think he got it worst actually. RIP

Definitely. There aren't many R5 pundits or commentators I'd miss but he is, without doubt, one of them.Harry Genshaw wrote:Always came across as a lovely bloke. A good club manager who like all England managers got treated appallingly by the press, think he got it worst actually.

Agreed. They said on the Beeb that he was known for asking 'the Scottish question' . I'll always remember him for his relentless pursuit of the truth over the sinking of the Belgrano. I'll offer a R.I.P for all those that have passed away. Condolences to John Hurt's family, he really was a fine actor.

Re: This weeks RIP's........
Aye,sad news and only 45, but it jogged my memory. Tom Van Volenhoven (sp?) who used to play rugby league for St Helens is still alive and 81. I actually remember him being legendary. The S.A connection clicked with me.Worthy4England wrote:Joost van der Westhuizen - Ex-Springbock's scrum half, world class. 45 died of motor-neurone. RIP.
