In your defence, you both grew up in the 70s where one of the mainstays of Saturday night entertainment was Celebrity Squares. You couldn't watch Willie Rushton drag himself upstairs and not think the students on UC weren't doing the sameBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 2:40 pmI was going to say the same but didn't want to appear stupid. And talking of Celebrity Squares, I still have absolutely no idea as to what it was that Kenny Lynch actually did for a living other than to simply turn up on stuff.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 3:42 pm

Tom Allen is his modern day equivalent. What the feck is it that he actually does by way of profession other than to turn up on stuff all smartly dressed and slightly effeminate?

I reckon you could watch back any episode of Celebrity Squares and successfully play a game of Yewtree noughts and crosses!Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 3:42 pmIn your defence, you both grew up in the 70s where one of the mainstays of Saturday night entertainment was Celebrity Squares. Stunned. I was sat between fine leg and square leg for that first ball that bamboozled Gatting. Never forget it.

And his last tweet was about the death of another Aussie great. Rod Marsh...Two tough playing cricketers in the space of hours....

An absolute bona fide legend. So so sad. The greatest spinner of all time in my book.
Enjoyed his commentating work too.
G’night Warney.

I'm not a cricket fan but even I was impressed with the bloke. Absolutely no age and particularly tragic that his last tweet was to mourn another Aussie cricketing legend.
RIP

Unbelievable cricketer, exuded charisma, and seemed a top bloke. A huge part of the iconography of 2005. X factor personified.

Farewell to an old mate "Ten-too Terry" a great bloke with a stammer who's MO was to turn up at last orders and shout on "six"...He came in one night and started to talk about t-t-tinned t-t-tomatoes before asking for beer, last orders were nearly rung before he'd finished. Oh and did he snore! Good innings and a sad loss.
