That's odd, boris. It is the BBC site. Ah, well, sorry.

Got a look at what's in store for GtE this afternoon by going over Sheephouse. I was on a hybrid, Mrs G on a mountain bike. Tough going but well rewarding with the descent into Belmont particularly exhilarating.

On the subject of easing chafing on the old under carriage. What have folk found works best?

Savlon or Sudocrem. Liberally applied.

A decent saddle to prevent cutting off circulation to the genitalia and thus avoiding 'numb knob'

And then it's just a question of manning up and taking a perineal beating.

Chamois Chamois Chamois!
Had to abandon my ride yesterday which was gutting. Still, managed 50 miles plus another 15miles back to the station ( via grassington and skipton, two wonderful places) so at least I did half of what's planned plus saw some beautiful sights. Yorkshire is beautiful.

In awe of the lads that finished, at around 20.45... We had set off at 08:00 :o

Just back from our cycling holiday in Vietnam. Would highly recommend it. You go at your own pace and in our group of 8, Mrs G & I were the most inexperienced but pleased to say with the exception of a couple of racers, we held our own. Over 300 miles over 8 days in 95+ degrees but utterly fecked now. Could do with a holiday! 8)
