My Specialist Subject is ...

Post by bobo the clown » Fri Feb 21, 2014 5:19 pm

If you were on Mastermind what would be your specialist subject ?

Mine today, John, is "Record Labels 1967-76".

Go on, ask me, ask me.

What's yours ?

British Distance running 1972 - present. I'd have to do some serious swotting though, not the geek I used to be in my school days.

It's not. It does need to be broad enough to be a challenge. I'm not sure one book would get approval ... unless its a big 'un !!

Strangely enough I went on to complete the application last week. It was this specific question times four that stumped me.
You need to not only submit FOUR specialist subjects, but the books you are using as references so they can coordinate the questions to meet what it is you think the subject is.
But, however, mine are so vague, as has been pointed out, one book don't cover it.
I have noticed the broader the subject the easier the questions... So mine are
1. History ( of the world, since time began)
2. Astronomy
3. Religion
4. World Geography

I am still considering applying.

Ha. I heard a radio programme once when people were invited to hone in and ask a top general knowledge guy any question they liked.

Then a guy came on & asked what colour jumper he was wearing. He was told "no, it needs to be a general knowledge question" but it simply ran on with his asking impossible, personal questions.

Was that you Blackbeard ?

Now Bobo needs to write a book and you can use it as your reference LLS. As long as it also contains the 7 other topics mentioned.
