Have a good day one and all.

Somebody, somewhere, in a cave back in the paeleolithic invented the concept of a mother-in-law.

Think I just picked mine up from there, too. It's not near Bury, is it?

Twenty years ago I was a young cop working Christmas day 2-10 shift. I dreaded it as every year it was the same, call to a domestic dispute, find sobbing man on doorstep, surrounded by kids unopened presents, tearful kids at the windows screaming for their daddy and a screaming woman f-in and blinding at him. Inevitably, she refused to let him see the kids, he kicked off, smashed a window and got locked up.

So today, as on every Christmas day, my heart goes out to those blokes who don't get to see their kids, but particularly to the kids, who don't understand what's happening.

That moment when one peels back the wrapping to reveal The Balvenie Double Wood. Oh yes. :pissed:

Feckers, the pair of you. I appear to have the choice of Grouse or QC sherry.

Christmas starts today at Chez Dujon. Apart from the crashing and banging in the kitchen (I'm not allowed in there at this critical time of year) it was quiet. Well, other than the lightning show and associated drum beating that arrived mid-afternoon. So far today it has been sunny and reasonably cool (23.1ºC as I type) so should be a good day weather-wise. My two children and their spouses will turn up sometime between 11:30 and sunset - they both tend to be rather vague in these matters - along with my granddaughter (just a teenager) and my unknown grandchild which has two months to go before its début in February '15.

I do hope you had a decent day yesterday and proffer to you my wishes for a happy and prosperous 2015.

And as if to prove a point, we've just walked back from a great day at the brother in law's to find full on domestic ongoing in the road and the young, drunk prick decided he was ten men and wanted a fight. Discretion being the better part of valour, I declined his kind offer, only to get stopped by the cops 5 minutes later whilst walking the dogs as apparently, he then clouted his girlfriend instead.

Our Christmas is today. Mrs BP is cooking for 15  who are travelling from as far afield as Essex and Switzerland. Plenty of food and booze in. Really looking forward to it. Just had a butty with the bacon taken off the turkey, fresh from the oven. Lovely!

Very quiet yesterday, spent helping to prep food and watching a few movies. Not sure i'd want to do it this way around again though.
