Brexit or Britin
I thought I'd disencumber the Politics thread of this issue and make a small island of it lodged just off the main continent of General Banter.
Many of you, with your lack of interest on whether the jocks would upsticks or stick, are probably equally disinterested in this, but some will be raving lunatics on the issue.
Me, I'm don't know yet.
Ignoring don't knows and won't vote latest YouGov has 56% want leave, 44% remain. A kick in the teeth to Cameron

Re: Brexit or Britin
When faced with the prospects of having to hear dickheads like Farage and his mob of f*ckwits crowing, I'm in. That's the only compelling argument I can think of.
That and the prospect of us becoming more like America fills me with an infinite dread. <shiver crawls up spine>

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

What, no poll?
I'm 'in'. Won't be long until Hoboh arrives with some links to Daily Mail articles I imagine.
It's interesting that the polls show that the young overwhelmingly want to stay (which is presumably why there's opposition to lowering the voting age to 16), whilst the over 55's are the ones who want out. Which begs the question, why do they get to vote when in the long run it's not them that are affected? They're mostly not even in the job market! Old, small minded, little englanders! feck em!

Re: Brexit or Britin
Maybe we could have a national policy (under EU laws, and cognisant of Human Rights of course) where anybody over 55 is burnt. I'm sure Germany will sign up. What was that song, The Future Belongs To Me?

Re: Brexit or Britin
Knowing most Daily Mail readers and their ilk think Human Rights a load of nonsense, we needn't trouble ourselves with implementing them in this case.

Re: Brexit or Britin
I think the implication was if you're old you'll vote 'out' because of course you are automatically small minded.
As I'm sixty that's decided me then. I'm glad I started this thread, without it I wouldn't have imagined that youthful ageist gits are a thing. Thanks Beefheart!

And before the thread, which way were you decided?

Undecided but leaning towards 'Out'.
I like the idea of feeling European but it looks, to me ay any rate, another behemoth of bureaucracy to wade through that I think we could manage without. Ultimately, I suspect it will come down to who I dislike most - Cameron or Farage

Re: Brexit or Britin
Maybe the vote cast should be diminished by a factor relating to your age. So, say, a 50 year old vote is only worth 50%, a 75 yr old's worth 25% etc.
That way the yoofs will get full value of their vote.
Thank God experience counts for nowt.

Re: Brexit or Britin
I like the idea of a USE.
I don't like the idea of a common currency.
Monetary union really won't work in the long run without fiscal union.
Switzerland seems quite content to be out of Europe while at the same time being the very centre of Europe.
I'm confused as to how Greenland and the I of Man already operate in the areas that European regulations applies to, so gawd knows how a further devolved UK will operate within Europe.
Nobody, not one politician*, addresses these areas. All they do is wank on about benefits, immigration, the Euro and PIIGS.
*hyperbole alert

I can't wait. Once we've voted in and the people have had their say, presumably the likes of Farrige will do one and shut up and we'll never hear from them again...

I'm voting out. On the grounds I'm in France and the feckers never answer the 'phone in under 10 minutes.
