5-3 down from 4-0, to start Saturday. That's a great fight back and McIlroy cans an eagle to win their match. Good stuff.

Much better effort in the afternoon. Thought McIlroy was going to blow it in that last 4. Some great performances from the rookies on both sides. Hats off to 'em.

Re: Ryder Cup 2016
Poor Danny had the hardest time - booed on the first tee. Many of the American fans were very tiresome (I expect these vote for Trump). One even yelled at Rory while he lining up his drive - no wonder he bowed at the end. Still there were a few Brits there who got vocal in the afternoon.Worthy4England wrote:Much better effort in the afternoon. Thought McIlroy was going to blow it in that last 4. Kaymer sits today after a shit day 1 and makes the winning putt on Sunday. Medinah Mk2.
Cabrera Bello & Garcia a revelation together and Pieters showed his worth as a pick. Westwood & Kaymer, did not. McIlroy made some poor shot choices but closed out well. Rose and Stenson's putters finally warmed up as the day progressed.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Westwood sit today either. Feel bad on Wood & Fitzpatrick - those two have won tournaments this year. Sullivan, W'Wood & Kaymer have not.

Agree with all of that, pretty much. I thought in the McIlroy/ Pieters pair, Pieters played for the partnership, Rory played for Rory.Dr Hotdog wrote:Kaymer sits today after a shit day 1 and makes the winning putt on Sunday. Medinah Mk2.

Splitting Rose and Stenson up and partnering them both up with rookies? Not sure what to make of that. (with Wood and Fitpatrick respectively). Mind you, we got gubbed yesterday morning so Clarke's had to do summat.

I'm reckoning by the PM sessions, both had got their game together although Rose's putting still left something to be desired. There's only one player can win a hole - might as well put them with two rookies maybe?Bruce Rioja wrote:Splitting Rose and Stenson up and partnering them both up with rookies? Agreed - veteran with rookie makes sense in the fourball - not so sure about the foursomes but you have to get the rookies in.Worthy4England wrote:I'm reckoning by the PM sessions, both had got their game together although Rose's putting still left something to be desired. Extremely exciting morning - well the last part anyway. Now just one back after the 0-4 start.

Can you not watch a re-run of Boardwalk or something mate? Your pessimism is killing me....BWFC_Insane wrote:Getting a bit dicey here for Europe again, can feel the 'muricans building up some momentum.

Re: Ryder Cup 2016
Wtf? It isn't pessimism. It's just stating the facts. Was looking good not that long ago, now we are only up in one, from a session we really can't afford to lose. The Americans had a good little run back there.TANGODANCER wrote:Can you not watch a re-run of Boardwalk or something mate?
